Sliding 2nd row monty seats forward to make a bed?

So I guess there is a way to recline flat your second and third row seats to make a bed. My real question is the trick to get your second row seat to slide forward. I always have to fiddle with it and pull every lever and handle untill to releases and slides forward. Then when it does ai have no idea how I did it, im just glad it did. Does anyone know the exact steps or procedure to make the 2nd row slide forward?

What year and model are we talking about here? If I were you I'd make a signature with this information on it. Post it up so we can help you...:)

I don't recall that they slide but I believe they can be folded flat. You remove the head rest from the front seats and fold them flat as well. Makes for a nice giant bed albeit not 'perfectly' flat.

In the GEN II's here's the process:

Remove all headrests.

Slide your FRONT seats all the way forwards, then recline them flat.
Fold your 2nd row flat.

If you have a 3rd row, drop the seats, but don't raise the backs.

I did it in my Gen I and Gen III before as well ....

Enjoy!

The trick to getting the seat to slide forward is to use the the big seat recline lever. Pull it all the way up and the seat will slide forward (and the seat back will lean forward as well). It may just be a quirk on my truck but this only works on the driver's side. Once the seat is forward you can lock it in place by pulling up on a little black lever near the seat track. Jiggle the seat back and forth a bit to get it to catch. Oh, before you slide the seat forward though, remove the head rests. There are a couple of sets of holes under the front edge of the seat where you can slide them in to store them.

When the seat is locked in place, you can use the recline lever to recline the seat back all the way flat. If your truck has the rear jump seats, fold those down and you'll have a nice sleeping area.

your not the only one...

5 easy steps for setting up camp:

Step 1 - Park
Step 2 - unload
Step 3 - pull every lever, push, pull, swear
Step 4 - breath, open cooler, drink beer :coffeedrink:
Step 5 - Repeat step 3 or Set up tent! (depends on how long step 4 takes:drool:)

I removed the plastic cover on the slider underneath the seat.
It made it stop sticking. Also lubed up the track a bit
