Has anybody ever tried to put some sliding drawers in the side boxes of a AT Horizion trailer. Custom stuff home made ect. I am doing just that, built some drawers now to finish em up. Will do that after I get back from FL,here are a few of the drawers and yes the will be finished nicely when I am done. I already have the slides 12" and 8" slides for them.Thoughts?

Not a horizon but similar !

I wanted to use for food so I just made the frame in 6mm ply glued and cross nailed.

Less weight and all dust proof

Looks nice, I was looking at my step fathers old footlocker and was trying to figure out what type of wood they used. Looked like red wood light and very durable,Looked at popular and other types of wood and all seemed heavy so will be doing redwood for now. Thanks for the pictures looks good.

I considered it for my own Horizon, but decided against them
I didn't want to lose some valuable room using the slides, since you'd have to mount them with room for the slides, whether at sides or bottoms.
I opted instead for stacking boxes and that seems to be ok for me.

Point taken, not much progress today just a mock up of an idea of what it might look like. The draws are the finished size, now to the vertical supports used pine for the mock up to get the cuts and to see where to mount the slides and spacing for the draws.

Up date on my project.Got things painted and mounted up,still have two more to finish. Last thing to do is put a fascia on the front of the draws so it will cover the vertical wood holding the slides. And do some kind of handle or just drill a hole for a finger to open them up.

That sure turned out nice, looks clean and organized.

Not done yet, I have one side done and decided to do only 2 drawers on the right side. Fascia still drying on the one side but you kinda get the idea. And ya I know one finger hole is a little off gives it home built kinda feel.

All done, they came fine and I am pleased with the results. Now to clean my garage and put tools and things away. Last pictures I promise,I even used space underneath the bottom drawers for things not used every trip but have on hand.

I had a small problem at night trying to light the draws as they are pulled out. Here is what I came up with, 6 led light strip, holes drilled in front of the weather seal under the top of the dise box lip. Strip is water sealed,I will do the other side this weekend these are just a test photo in the early evening. Even with the side box opened you would never see the leds they only stick out from the holes about 1/16 of an inch and you would never they are there untill they light up. They do not interfere with the door closing, the door never touches em.
