Why does this appear so often in Brit ads:
"Please, no time wasters, tyre kickers or test pilots. I look forward to meeting serious potential buyers."
Am I the only one to find that kind of sentence offputting?

With regards to comments, it seems to be the standard these days. but I imagine there are many dicks (Richards) over your side of the pond to. We get a lot of traders calling and unrealistic promises etc (not that these comments would put them off!).

I grew up in the UK and as car ownership is so expensive there you would be surprised how many people just come and have a look. if you are in the market for a URAL you would have done homework on it, not just wander in off the streets so to speak. But my brother and I (we had a bunch of American vehicles there) found people would just want to see it with no intention of buying.
