Smelling Rich, Feeling Poor

Leaks.
My LR Series III 88" has a 2.25L petrol with a Weber carb and a 45L tank on 235/85/16's.

With a new exhaust installed, the rattles are gone and I can hear/see better what the fumes are. It's coming out as sputtery, clear (not white nor blue, which is good), and idle sounds good to me.

It has new Pennzoil High Mileage 5W30 and new spark plugs. It smells rich though but could that be because the BritPart exhaust has a 'silencer' and not a cat?

When I went to check my mileage though, calculations gave me ~172km total distance; 11MPG or 21L/100km.

Is this the mileage I should expect on the aerodynamics of a box or should I be getting better numbers?

Around town plus some off road 11mpg is about right. A long cruise at 45mph will double that amount.

Since you just got it, I would recommend driving it 500 plus miles before you tinker on the motor or carb.

Did you fix your rear axle or diff issue yet?
