Smittybilt Scout Trailer Reviews?

Unhappy with how small the stove drawer was, and the fact you have to stand on the opposite side to cook, I just made a simple drawer for the stove. I will be attaching legs at a later date. The weight of the wooden drawer compared to the old metal drawer is a crazy difference. I may not even need the legs. Less than 5 pounds for the wood compared to greater than 15-20 lbs for the metal. I need 2 pick up 2 more eye let bolts to finish the front. The stove will be held in place by 2 bungee cords.
Also I have an idea about mounting 5 gallons of gas and 5 gallons of water to side fender of the trailer. Just have to go pick up 2 jerry can holders.
Heading up to the eastern shore this weekend for some camping, so I will paint the drawer at a later date.
Also I won a Yeti 400 Goal Zero in a raffle this week, so I will have a simple on board battery set up for the time being! I haven't decided if this will be permanent.

RWB_Runner, great idea to replace the drawer. That latch eats up so much space. They could have used something much smaller or an external latching mechanism and given us a few more inches for a stove.

When you compare cost per SqIn of space and durability they don't even come close to the GI Sceptre 20L/5Gal fuel or water cans.

Space or amount boils down to static and dynamic weight. And can be torn off trailer and left way behind without knowing. Just saying

Honestly its minimal where I am at. It has rained maybe 4-6" total. Winds had gusts into the 40 MPH range but have died off. Nothing like they are getting in Houston. It did saturate the ground pretty good here, had a couple 10-12' tall shrubs in the front yard want to tip over with the winds, they were leaning at about a 45 degree angle.

Edit... guess I was wrong.. news says we have got over 10"... but it doesn't seem like it. I suppose its just because it has been a steady even rain here, not torrential downpours, just a steady rain for 3 days.

Looks like they got my trailer in the warehouse and are currently processing the order. I feel like a kid waiting for Santa Claus, ordered on August 8th so not too long of a wait.

OK RWB_runner now you're just showing off to make us jealous! Just kidding, thank you for all of the inspiration. I was really hoping mine would show up this week so I could get it built and enjoy it this weekend, but this week is quickly disappearing and no trailer in sight.
