I am running the Sy-klone 9001 (as it says on top) without issue on an ‘07 with a 4BT. While that precleaner spools up with a lot of noise, it seems to work ok except for some bugs. I think they get in when it’s sitting though, and I don’t find any dirt or leaves on the air cleaner.
By my calculations, RPMs would be high enough to tear the motor apart through “dangerous harmonics” (per the 4BT info from Cummins) before consuming 275 CFM. At peak torque, it needs about 160 CFM. Is the 3.8 or Pentastar 3.6 so different?
