Snow Peak and Pelican Case storage setup

Just received the padded divider set in the mail for my pelican 1550. Wanted to see what and how other people use their pelicans to store their camping goods. I'll post pictures later when I get home.

Here's my first case; its a Pelican 1600 and it stores a double unit Snow Peak BBQ or the Double Burner. It didn't make sense to me to buy the padded divider system and not use the dividers, so I made the padded cushions to go around the bbq box. It's a perfect fit.

Here's my second case, it's a Pelican 1550 with a padded divider set and its got a mix of cooking and lighting equipment. I gotta get another 1550 to split the two category of items up.

My third case for the moment is a Pelican 1450 and it stores a single unit bamboo unit or the two stainless steel inserts for the Snow Peak IGT and in addition the Baja Stove.

I have another Pelican 1560 but its in the works of getting stuff fitted into it.

Come on, lets show and tell - I wanna see your guys' setup!

for fun not sure if you saw this gas grill I adapted to the IGT ?
http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/77054-Snow-Peak-IGT-tweaks-a-gas-grill-amp-more

but my main snow peak stuff I am still figuring out a bit
so far in a pelican 1620
I have my gas grill for the IGT and my single BBQ box my Baja Burner and the stainless 1/2 space tray inserts

in some ways for some parts like the grill etc.. I think a pelican is a bit overkill ? since its tough stuff and a bit of water wont really hurt it ? but I do like the idea if its dropped it should be more protected ?
so I am also thinking of trying some padded cases like cheap cooler cases you can get at stores for cold stuff and put each item in a case and then put those where ever they fit in the truck to fill in areas in between things etc.. ?

the upside to the later is if its a bit dirty greasy after camping no biggy the same case gets a bit dirty ? and they are cheap
my main pelican I have divider cases and also for some things use those cheap blue sleeping pads cut up to pad things that way if they get messed up they are cheap to replace
which is the route for my 1620 box :) keep the cooking stuff separate so the greasy food smells might not mess up other things

but the idea of one box for both my grills and the burner and trays and seen if I can fit in the griddle seems like a good thing :)
I will get some pics in a few days :) and post em up

Honu, that's a sweet custom gas grill. Seems like a near perfect fit and made to fill in a single unit in the IGT system. Very clever.

As for the overkill of the pelican system, it may be so, but when the back of your 4x4 is completely full, it gives me peace of mind that I can stack heavier things on top of a burner or the bbq box, and it won't get crushed. As for the smelling and contamination of your equipment, you can line your bbq box with tin foil and that way cleanup is a breeze. Also I do my dishwashing in the field and that way everything is nice and neat.

I am building new dividers for the pelican 1560 I have- I'll post pictures of the work in progress.

I hear ya about the pelican and safety and cleaning as I say heavy tin foil is your friend :) the other thing I like carrying are those kitchen wipes in the pop up have a rougher surface on one side and cuts grease in a couple wipes like the Clorox ones etc...

mine is in a pelican :) most likely will stay in it
more thinking pros cons out loud :)

The other thing I have used that works well is gator board or really good foam core cut it then tape it you have some nice solid dividers inside a case :)
Gator or foam is light can cut with a utility knive and easy to work with plenty solid etc...
Just some thoughts :)

I am a photographer used to be a big interior arch shooter and had a ton of lighting gear etc... The foam core and blue pads can do amazing things for customizing if ya like that kind of stuff

Thanks on the grill :) amazing how it's the perfect fit :)

Look forward to seeing what you come up with :)
