Looking for partners for top roping at Stoney Point and short trips to Joshua Tree. I want to start climbing more often but all my partners now have newborn kids and are out of commission. Right now I can lead 5.9 crack and 5.10 face. but will climb anything. Also interested in exploratory climbs in the Inyos. If interested let me know.

I'm also still in the L.A. area and eager to climb. I have enough stuff with me to second but rack & ropes are at home in Mass.

Cheers,
Graham

p.s. Kevin, I sent you a PM.

I'm around - down in the south bay and have enough of a rack to set up one or two topropes. I've only climbed Stoney Pointe a couple of times so someone who knows the area better would be awesome...

Count me in for JT climbing. I am a beginner. But I have done a couple of climbs outdoors and have played at an indoor rock climbing gym. So if you would not mind tutoring...that would be cool.

We will have to plan a Expo Climbing trip this Winter to Joshua Tree. There has to be more climbers out there lurking in the shadows.

Cool, as a matter of fact last weekend I was ready to roll out to JT and meet a friend with the purpose of doing some climbs...trip was cancelled because his 04 VW "egg" started giving him electrical problems and stalling as soon as he got on the road...we had to cancel as a result.

When the weather cools we will have to head out there.

My wife and I climb and are always looking to meet new people. We'll be heading to Josh this winter of course. Next year we'll lead a trip to Canyon Tajo in Baja which is great for camping and climbing - the Josh of Baja.

I'll keep eyes on this for some trips.

Actually, a trip around the Christmas holidays for climbing and wheeling out in New Jack would be cool. Maybe we could plan in advance?

It looks like I'm headed back to Mass. this weekend where I'll be wearing crampons rather than rock shoes. Y'all are welcome to come and freeze your arses off! I hope to come back to California in the new year though... :)

Graham

Graham,

Glad your heading home but sorry to lose a climbing partner.

Best of luck and hope to see you out here again soon.

Where is boulderdash? I remember there used to be a small indoor wall at a climbing shop down the street from Stoney on Topanga. The shop was owned by a guy named Ed and it didnt last long. This was over 20 years ago.

I skipped many days of high school for bouldering at stoney point back in 1982-85. It was a fun time.

Way to go! I wish I was in shape just to enter. I'm 42 and have put on the lbs. I have a wall in my garage that I need to start climbing on to get back in some sort of shape, preferably not a round shape. Looking forward to getting out on the rock this winter.
