SOAZ's Trip updates

SOAZ

Tim and Kelsey get lost..
I've had a few smaller trips that I've done so I haven't created a thread about them, but I figured I'd post the updates in one thread.
First up in June was a trip to the White Mountains of AZ on the Mogollon rim. I took just about all dirt from Phoenix to the rim and then a different dirt track back home.
It was about 350 miles of dirt or 400 miles total.

Mountain Biking the White Mountains

The next weekend was the blues, brews and mountain biking... OH and Strawberry festival. That's a lot of festivalidge!
So we went back to a similar area along the rim and road bikes and ate some great food.

2010 5th gen 4runner Trail Edition Icon Install and Chiva Falls break in.

A buddy of mine just got a 4runner after getting tired of hearing me talk about mine each year on the Death Valley trip. He picked up some tires in Orange County and the Icon kit in Corona and headed out.

We installed the new kit and then wen't offroading out to Chiva falls near Tucson.

Great pics from Chivo. I haven't been out there in quite a while (got kind of burnt out on it) but it sure is nice with all the water out there. If you really want to see green head down near Patagonia, it is greener than I have ever seen it right now.

I know what you mean. When I was at UofA Chiva got really old! This was cool because it's more than I've ever seen the waterfall running.
I need to get back down to Patagonia. I bet it's a 180 degree difference than the browness I saw last time. :Wow1:

Nice. :victory:

How did the 5th Gen do overall?

Really well. He put a nice little dent in the gas tank skid, but that could have been avoided. The truck did really well with the rear locker and a-trac handling the front end. I am NOT a fan of the DHAC for going down hill. We tried to use it on a steep hill and it was pulsing and shaknig the truck instead of letting it down nice and easy. Maybe we did something wrong, but I'd only consider it useful for someone who is not confident in their own ability.

Excelsior!
Great pictures! You have some nice shots that demanded more than a quick scroll-by

Nice idea to combine the short activities into one thread. I've been procrastinatin' on some updates so I'll just follow your lead :)

Thanks! I know what you mean. I felt motivated to finally post them up so I knew I better do it or I'd get busy and months would go by again.

Great trips, Tim!

Thanks for the inspiration!

Thanks! We gotta go do a trail soon.

I saw you at Four Peaks Brewery last Friday around lunch, well I saw your rig parked outside anyways haha. I looked for you but didn't see you. I'm very ready for the weather to cool off a bit and get back out on the trails, your pictures just make me that much more ready to get out.
