SoCal Tear Drop Owners! Post up!

Had a similar door seal issue with my AT/SoCal teardrop. I was sent a set braces that take any warpage out of the door. The braces are made from baltic birch, with the same quality as the rest of the trailer. As well as solving the problem, they make for a great interior handle to help close the door.

BTW, I used a dollar bill to check the seal on the door. Dollar bill shouldn't be able to slip and move.

I have those braces installed already. They do look great and make wonderful handles. I also want to stress that I am by no means calling this a build quality issue, rather I understand that things do move around and shift, especially with the stressing from off road travel. I'm just trying to make the doors seal correctly again.

My trailer has that handle brace too. They're nice to have just as a handle. I wasn't sure if those handles were standard or what since I saw other Krawlers without them.

Here's a couple of pics of my doors, both sides. From the inside you can clearly see the daylight through the cracks. Hopefully you can also see the interior handle style. The problem has appeared on the other door again. I do live on the coast and we have a lot of moisture in the air so not sure if that's causing the doors to warp but I would hope that that's not the case.

Great pictures. It appears to be very small. All that said I hope you can get it adjusted. Good info to ask my builder about!

The doors don't seem warped really. I think just a fatter weather strip wild fix it easily. I'm not that concerned because I know there is a solution.

I'm thinking of modifying the cabin shelving to accommodate a bookshelf, I think there is a lot of usable space in my set for this. Anyone else modified the cabinets in any way, love to see any pics.

I believe the handle braces are built with a bit a camber to them. Maybe all you need is another set, that has a bit more camber, to help the door seal against the weather stripping. Just my $0.02.

The wood is 9 ply Baltic birch ply, the same material as the trailer cabinetry is built from, you can get it from quality lumber suppliers. An 8ft x 4ft cost me $90, I'm also building a table that will attach to the fender as well as the interior mods. The magnets and fixtures are from Ace hardware and are nothing special, you can get them from any hardware store. I'm testing this set up to see if it will be strong enough to work off road. If not I'll redesign it. I like to use stainless steel screws.

How long of a screw did you use to mount the hardware since there isn't much thickness to the walls in the trailer?
