This thread got quiet! We spent the weekend in Austin TX and took a side trip through the hill country. We will definitely go back and run the full route next time. Probably need a full two days to do it properly.

My trailer is in the shop down in CA. I should be getting it back soon. I'd like to try to go camp over my 2 week Christmas break if there's a weekend with no rain, but the forecast and shown rain every day so far so I expect that pattern to hold.

I am going to Dinosaur Valley State park near Glen Rose, TX over the New Year weekend. It will be the first time my daughter has slept in it.

You'll be an hour and a half from me! Do you have a heater installed?

Yeah Chris we do have the heater and it works like a champ. Probably works too well...my wife and I used it in North West New Mexico. We had the thermostat set to about 65 and woke up in the middle of the night just burning up. Does great to knock out the chill.

Awesome! Be sure to install a carbon monoxide and propane detector. Teardrops are small, and a crack or failure in any part could quickly be bad news

Ya, the last time we did cold camping without a heater it was in the middle of an ice storm. i was toasty, but my girlfriend got pneumonia and we spent the rest of the vacation at home with her sick. Shes just susceptible to it i guess, go figure.
