You can just swap out the hub by replacing it with the new ones that are 6 stud. I don't know the exact details of what is all needed as for stud length, etc. But you can usually get that stuff from any trailer company online that sells the parts. And I don't think it's that expensive or hard to swap out. You can also just do a wheel adapter too if you didn't do the hubs. But you have to make sure your backspacing and all that is correct. Somewhere in this thread someone links the site they used.

I have yet to change mine out from my Jeep wheels to my Toyota wheels. Funds and other things have gotten in the way to allow me to do anything lately.

Thanks for the info, I figured it wasn't rocket science, good luck with the swap.

Love the way you set that trailer up! Could you PM me how you optioned it up and what it ended up at, price-wise? Thanks!

For those thinking trailer brakes the Tekonsha Prodigy wireless is the only way to go. No in-cab controller needed, everything is on the trailer. Perfect for a trailer of this weight range. I rented a teardrop with this setup a couple of times and you have no feeling at all that the trailer is back there when it comes to braking.

Has anyone rigged up any kind of insect control around the cooking area? We are starting to get into yellowjacket season here in northern California. Last year I used a popup tent and a really big sheet of bug netting material, but it was way too much of a pain to set up and the wind kept blowing it all around.

What better ideas have folks come up with ?

I just want to say what a nice bunch of guys SoCal Teardrops are, I've just blown a shock and they spent all the time I needed on the phone, on the weekend, to give me advice. Top customer service.

I've always used a jar half full of water and sugar mix to attract and trap them. We also use the mesh covers on all food, good luck I don't think there is any solution to total protection.

Buzz-Off or Krawler

My wife and I are trying to decide. She likes the simplicity of the Buzz-Off, I think there may be more useful options available for the Krawler. We both like the price of the Buzz-Off. Will be road tripping mostly. Longer stays we'll set up our Springbar Traveler 5. Pulling with a 2014 Tacoma regular cab 4x4 (4 cyl). My bride especially likes the idea of the 30 gal. water tank with the electric pump and a hot water heater (we use a Zodi Extreme now). I like the extra few inches of width one gets with the Krawler. Experiences and opinions appreciated...

First post here.....just joined the So-Cal club after picking up a Buzz-off just yesterday from the Midwest branch. @coalminer I was also on the fence between the Krawler and Buzz-off for the same exact reasons. I ended up taking the plunge on the Buzz. The cost difference was too much. We stayed in it last night and we have no regrets...the bed size was just right for a couple average folks.

I did add a couple things that bumped the price, but it still was significantly cheaper than a similarly outfitted Krawler. And now I have another project in fabbing up a camp kitchen.

Thanks.......Chris

Kudos to So-Cal Trailers

I just want to give a big shout out to So-Cal trailers for their excellent customer service I received today. Last week I called their office in Upland, CA and spoke to Becky about ordering new door molding as I was getting some dust infiltration around the passenger side door on my 2012 AT Teardrop. I live about 100 miles from their shop so she suggested I bring the trailer in for an inspection at my earliest convenience, which I did today. Less than 2 hours after arriving I was back on the road heading home with new door seals on both doors and new struts on the clamshell (struts had failed after I had spoken w/Becky). I was estimating it would cost several hundred dollars to replace the struts and install new door seals which I would have been happy to pay. However, So-Cal covered the entire bill, parts and labor! A big thumbs-up and thank you for superior customer service!
