Up for sale is my 1985 FJ60. 4 spd manual transmission.
I bought the truck from 2nd owner July of 2016. It was stored in my friends dads garage in Los Angeles for 14ish years. They bought it in 1987 as the second owners. Cancer free original paint. Its 35 years old so there are some dents, scrapes and faded paint areas. Undercarriage was treated by the second owners when they bought it. Drip rails are solid. Floors are near mint condition, there was a small patch of surface rust about the size of a quarter that I sanded and primed before insulating.
The previous owner said the engine was rebuilt shortly before he parked it in his garage. No paper work to prove it.
There are signs that the engine was rebuilt that I can point out in person if you want.
It sat till April 15th of 2017 or so till I removed the seats and carpet to insulate the floors.
The fabric of the seats were power washed and the driver seat bottom fabric was replaced with a donor passenger seat.
April 2017, cleaned hard fuel lines and replaced rubber fuel lines, cleaned out fuel tank and refurbished spare tire carrier.
November 2017, marvel mystery oil down the cylinders. engine turned over by hand. New cap and rotor, wires, air filter, fuel filter, new battery and carb rebuild.
Jan 2018, first drive in 15 years. Went to the car wash and lunch.
Feb 2018, CruiserCrap sound deadener and Thermozite insulation. Dash cap.
April 12th, 2018- 285/75/16 AT3 installed on Tacoma steelies
April 13th, Master and Slave cylinder
May 9th, refurbished mudflaps
July 2018, Installed a 2" Tough Dog suspension kit
July 28th, home made roof rack
August 2018, new tie rods from Cruisercorps
August 2018, AC Compressor replaced, evac and recharge. BLOWS cold.
October 2018, New weather stripping and windshield. Installer did not instal it correctly so water will leak in between the windshield and weather stripping. The truck is covered when it rain with a car cover. I may have this fixed in the coming week.
March 2019, Tow Hitch for towing offroad trailer.
March 15th 2019, DNP carpet kit
March 25th 2019, Wheel Spacers
March 30th 2019, knuckle seals. Replaced brake master cylinder, calipers, rotors and pads. Rear cylinders and shoes.
October 2019 new Aisin clutch
September 19 2019, sound deadened doors. OEM radio, inclinometer. The combo of the radio and inclinometer keep blowing a fuse so if I have time before the sale I'll try to figure that out Radio worked fine prior to inclinometer. New door cards from OZ with new vinyl on front seats and door cards. Reused OEM striped fabric.
Sept., 22 2019 new door handles painted metallic satin black.
March, 2020 it got a new power steering pump, rebuilt smog pump and numerous smog components. Passed California smog with amazing numbers on 3/16/2020.
May 2020 Cibi headlight upgrade from Toyota
Just had the timing and carb adjusted by K&H Imports in Canoga Park.
Probably missing stuff in the list that was done to it.
The only reason for the sale is we are looking for a 4x4 van or 7.3 Excursion.
$20,000 OBO, listed on local CL for 22k.
