For over a year I’ve also mulled over the price. From the examples I’ve seen, few and far in-between are any 80’s built like this one (for sale anyway) and with such low mileage. From what I’ve seen, and what I have, I’m asking $21,000. Considering all the modifications and included parts, I feel this is a fair price. See below for more details.
Drivetrain
· One of the last TRD Superchargers (installed May 2014, 150k miles) no longer available from TRD. Magnuson sells them now but at roughly $5k
· Also installed at time of SC, all OEM:
· radiator/hoses/thermostat/coolant
· Blue fan clutch
· Oem fan
· spark plugs
· Main crank seal
· Oil pump cover
· Distributor o-ring
· Power steering flush
· Power steering pump rebuild
· Drive belts
· 4.88 gear ratio
· FR/RR ARB air lockers
· Wired with OEM switch along with dash lighting for cleanest integration
· Center Diff Lock Switch
· Always used OEM parts for axle rebuild
· Power Slot Rotors/EBC green stuff pads
· OEM calipers replaced during my ownership
· 315/75R16 Toyo AT2 Extremes with matching spare, approx. 5k miles on them. Fully transferable Americas Tire Certificates
- FR axle rebuilt at 145k miles
Suspension
· Front – OME J springs with spacers
· Rear – OME 864’s
· 2.5” RADFLO shocks. Custom made per measured axle travel/weights
· FR/RR Metaltech swaybar drop brackets
· Slee Offroad extended SS braided brake lines
View attachment 380230
Protection/Recovery
· ARB Front Bumper with Lightforce Lights
· Warm M10000 winch
· Slee Offroad T-case skid
· 4x4labs rear bumper with vision x LED flood lights and Hi Lift Jack
- Sides have been Line-X'd after removal of the fender flares
Communications
· Yaesu FT-7900R 2m/440
· Comet nmo antenna
· Cobra 75WXST compact/remote mount CB radio
· Panavise dash mount with ram ball
Expedition Gear
· African Outback lockable drawer system with fridge slide, imported from South Africa via Slee Offroad
· African Outback 19 gallon water tank (mounts on drawers, against rear seats)
· FrontRunner Outfitters Roof Rack
· Fiamma F35pro Awning
· Helton Hot water heat exchanger, plumbed to quick disconnects on front bumper
Electrical
· Dual Group 31 AGM deep cycle batteries in OEM locations
· Perfect switch, low impedance battery isolator. Solid state, no solenoids.
· 150a Alternator OEM Toyota (I will include a spare)
· Carmanah/GoPower Solar controller, I think it’s rated for 25amps. I’m keeping the panel.
· Blue Sea fuse block in engine bay/rear cubby
· Additional 12v outlets in center console/rear cubby
· Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Brake Controller
(Fridge and gun stuff not included . Illuminated with LED light strip installed on rear hatch)
Included but not installed
· Toyota Aux fuel tank and mounting straps (approx. 15 gallon capacity)
· Dual filler neck
· Fuel sensor
· Overhead console with fuel level gauge
· Shortened sun visor to accommodate overhead console
· Ram mount for small laptop
· 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] row seats
· Various lightforce light filters
Know issues
· It’s a 1995 so it shows it’s age accordingly
· The clear coat is fading on the hood/rear quarter panels
· The rear hatch power door lock doesn’t always work (still useable with a key)
· The power seats should be addressed, the driver still works, the passenger needs the gears replaced. (I will include the needed parts to repair both seats)
- The antenna doesn't go up/down
· If you don’t warm up the engine to about a little over 100*F (I use a scan gauge to monitor) there’s a chance it’ll throw a check engine light (either p401 or 402, I don’t remember) it has to do with the EGR system. I warm it up every time and haven’t had the code for well over a year. The scan gauge indicates the ECU is ready. It passed smog two years ago, I’m confident it’ll pass now as my registration is due by February.
· The rear swingout needs one of the stops relocated for the latch to properly toggle. The latch still closes, I just tie a small rope to keep the latch from opening. Luke at 4x4 Labs said he’d take care of it but I haven’t taken the time to mail him the swing arm.
I’ve held this TLC near and dear to my heart, and always will. I’ve talked about selling it for over a year but never had the courage to sit down and actually do it. I wouldn’t hesitate to take it anywhere around the world as parts are widely available and it’s never let me down. My wife and I took our 3 boys on a 9 day eastern sierra camping trip this last summer and I’d do it again in a heartbeat. In 2014 I drove it 15 hours straight from Colorado to California with the family in tow and not a single complaint.
