I've got a 14' ambulance box (Life Line) that would fit this truck.

I was planning on making it into an expo camper but don't think I'll get to do that. I removed the interior because I was planning on redoing it completely.

Dave suggested I put this on the thread so here it is, $1500 for the box. PM if interested (near Spokane).

Heck even if you are not interested in the Fuso, you should check this box out...the price sure seems right. Here is an update on ambulance box from SurvivalAcres (sounds like it would be a good fit on the Fuso).

Life Line Highliner, 1997
Model 766
Serial Number: 76697H1

I think this is their phone number for Life Line - 563-578-3317. I had called them to get details, completely configured this box was about $120,000.

All aluminum box, frame, skin, doors, floor, etc. Forget wall skin thickness, but it's not thin.

Overall Box Length 14' 4" (173")

Overall Outside Height 92"

Inside Height 68" (as I recall, if you're not too tall you can walk around inside with ducking)

Front of box to center wheelwheel 100"

Frame Width (has frame rails under box) 43" (runs front to rear, steel)

Box attached with L shaped mounts. Most trucks frames are 34" - 38" width so this will drop right over.

Frame to Top 75 1/2" - this is how high it sits above the frame. Mounted on the L brackets or 3-point design, it would be a little taller due to the added brackets.

Fenderwell to fenderwell (outside edge to outside edge) 101". Dually wheel setup but if not desired, easily changed (modify fenderwell inside).

Wheel Center to Rear of the Box 72 3/4"

Has pass through opening.

Interior has been completely removed including polyestrene insulations, was going to either spray foam or use blue board insulation.

Box construction is incredibly stout. 2" square channel interior framework.

Interior is completely gone including most wiring (rear lights are still there).

Box Drop, Frame to Bottom of Box 16 7/8"

Has slam latch type doors all around.

2004 Fuso

Hello, my name is Hutch and I am very interested in your Fuso for sale. Is it still available? I am looking at a couple around the country, and made an application with my bank today to secure funds. I will be hearing by Thursday at the latest. If it is still for sale I would like to talk about it. Thanks Hutch

There have been a number of people interested in this Fuso recently. The new year must have kick started some new builds. I am on the road touring WY, UT, and NM. Just spent 3 days in Tetons...very cold and snowy but the wildlife viewing was awesome. Now am making my way to Bosque Del Apache via Canyonlands, Moab and whatever else looks interesting. Bottom line is I will be back in MT and available to show the truck in early Feb. Good to all the builders out there! Current camper has kept us warm at 5 degrees above zero in a raging snow storm while only sipping diesel fuel to run the furnace. Have truly learned the value of insulation and good design...it is paying off nicely.

We are back from a 4k mile tour of UT, NM, AZ, CO, WY, ID, and MT. I have updated the description and the price (yep I reduced it..it's time to sell). I also am considering trades again. We met a great guy from the forum in Albuquerque NM who wanted to do a part trade and we considered it. We did not do the deal, but have decided that we are open to trades. Preference is for 3/4 and 1T diesels, but a Ford F150 4x4 Crew would also work nicely. If you have a trade, let's talk.

SOLD today to a guy from Reno, NV who vacations and has a second home in Baja. He is building a customer camper to fit on the flatbed. Sale will complete next week and he can announce his purchase and start his build.

Congratulations. It seemed a fine truck and we'll be eager to follow along with it's next iteration.

That would be me.

We've been using an '86 tin top Syncro Vanagon for the last three years or so. After doing <almost> everything we could to the Syncro (3.3L SVX engine, FOX suspension, bumpers, roof racks, etc, etc, we're really looking forward to this truck (super psyched!) as the starting point for a custom build-out. It will most likely resemble something along the lines of what ze Germans have been doing with the new ones. I've never actually built an RV, but I've worked on plenty of yachts and I was a custom builder and cabinet maker for twenty years. I'm sure it will also come in handy that I presently own a Porsche/BMW repair shop here in Reno. Woo-hoo, I get to use my TIG welder!

It will most likely be a one or two year project as we will be keeping the Syncro while working on the FUSO . I'll post anything of interest here as things progress.
