You're right. Correction made. My mind must have been over-landing while my body was typing the post.

My Oregon colleague John is probably off traveling somewhere, so I better take responsibility for giving this thread a bump.

FWIW, I've seen the truck several times, and it strikes me as having a very well-chosen set of mods. In particular, the whole RTT setup thing is handled very well with the big Baja Rack setup. Looks the business, too, being the classy ExPo white. ;)

Not that there's a shortage of JKs for sale, but this one does have the advantage of being turnkey ready for a serious expedition. Add a tent and you're pretty much good to go.

Where is the Jeep located right now? Are you at all interested in a trade for a Land Cruiser?

PLEASE, readers, give me a clue why this rig is not getting any more traction than this here. It sure gets traction on the ground everywhere else!!

Feedback, comments, please!

This applies only to me

John,

I'm in the market so I looked at your ad closely. For me, I was confused as to why your lead off image contained a RTT while the actual sale does not. This was a cruel tease and made me wonder what else I might be missing. I'm sure it was unintentional, however it left me wondering.... In addition, with 2014s on the way, your Jeep is priced close to what a 2013 Sport with options will soon go for. While a Rubi is a different beast, for myself, the newer engine is more desirable.

While the remainder of your aftermarket items are certainly welcome additions, none of them retain much resale value in my eyes. Although I will have to spring for a rack, I'm leaning to ward to Gobi (for the ladder) or the AEV (without).

Lastly, I will probably buy a mall crawler in the per-owned market as I know it will not have seen the roads, and lack there of, yours has. With no warranty remaining, this seems a prudent choice. If your JKU had a reputable lift and AEV wheels, then I might find an excuse to bypass the mall crawler. But apples to apples, I feel there are other opportunities that suit my needs.

Respectfully,

Thanks for the candid reply. FYI, all the items listed are in fact included, I just wanted to illustrate how one could go farther with the rig.

Good luck on your search.

THANKS to Jennifer and David from Maryland, the Jeep is sold. I sincerely wish that they have as much fun and adventure with it as we did. They are flying out to OR to pick it up and have their first adventures on the way home.

Good memories with that Jeep, John.

Yes, after the new suspension we put under it on the beach in Belize, it was utterly reliable even when called on to pull a few of the others on our trip to Panama out of the deeper mud! Since then, it has continued to be super reliable, and I do hate to part with it. However, the Jeep seats are pinching my hips and making my right leg go numb. So I bought Mike Hiscox's Series 100 modified by Paul Jensen; it has the promise of being just as good a rig as the Jeep, and a bit more 'lux'. My hips are loving the Toyota seats!

Best, John
