SOLD

Price dropped to $2,500. I need to make some room.

Built this trailer out of boredom and I just don't need it. Never even used it other than pulling it around for a few days because it looked cool. Lol.

I need something else to do now, so I'm selling this to start something different.

Since the attached pics were taken, I've added a tongue jack with wheel and also adapted a tongue jack to fit the rear receiver to use as a stabilizer for a RTT or whatever. I'll get some updated pics posted this weekend.

I have submitted for an inspection to get a title, but they haven't scheduled the inspection yet. In the next week or two I should have a Tennessee title for it. They cashed the check on 2/28 and said it can take 4 to 6 weeks to do the inspection. Edit to add: No idea what's going on with the inspection. They call when I'm at work, but don't leave a message. Then when I call back, they don't answer.

Main frame, tongue, and top rail are 3" x 2" x 11ga rectangle tubing.

Uprights and tailgate are 1.5" x 1.5" x 11 ga squre tubing.

Floor supports are 2" x 2" x 1/8" angle.

Floor is 14 ga tread plate.

Axle is 2" x 2" x .25" square tubing

Spindles and hubs are new and 3,500 lb rated.

Wheels are 17" x 9" Pro Comp steel (new). Fits Jeep JK.

Tires are 37x12.50R17. Used but in great shape for a trailer.

Front jack is new Bulldog, modified to replace foot with flat free tire.

Rear jack is new Bulldog, with adapter to fit rear receiver for use as a stabilizing jack.

Coupler is standard coupler for 2" ball.

Total weight is 800 lbs. Sprung weight is 540 lbs

I have a new set of fenders for it, but I didn't install them because I'm not sure I like them. They are 36" diameter and I never got around to modifying them to fir the way I wanted.

$2,500

Link to the thread I shared a lot of pictures of the build is HERE

I like it as well. Could you confirm something and answer a few questions?

It looks like the top rail is wider than the bottom rail slightly, both front and sides? Might be angles of photos though. How difficult would it be to add a framework to support a “roof” rack or top racK?

Bed/floor is 4x7ft? Thought I read that, but can’t find it.

Width of tailgate?

It wouldn’t be a problem to cut the top rail above the tailgate?

Height of bed/floor off ground?

Any idea of receiver capacity?

I want to carry a motorcycle or scooter plus bikes.

Thanks.

Yes, the top rail is slightly wider than the bottom rail all the way around. Both are 2" x 3" rectangle tubing, but the bottom rail is standing up and the top rail is laying down. There are plenty of ways to add a rack to the top.

Floor is 44" x 80"

Tailgate is 26.5" wide sitting in a 26.75" wide opening.

Top rail could easily be cut out above the tailgate. I liked the continuous top rail, but made it in a way that the top rail coukd be welded to the tailgate, then cut and capped, leaving the appearance of a continuous top rail.

Floor is 28.5"off the ground.

Receiver capacity is listed at 3,500 lbs. However, I'm not an engineer so I feel it would be negligent of me to define a capacity. 3,500 lbs is the capacity of that specific piece.

I've attached a couple pics that hopefully show some detail in reference to your questions.

Thanks much. I was hoping the floor was 84” long. I meant rear receiver as far as capacity.

It is a little smaller than I am looking for. I’ll ponder it. Thanks again.

I just realized I had a typo in the length above. I'll correct that. The bed is 44" x 80". Still not the 84 you're looking for though.

When I was building it, I was focused on keeping the same track width as my JK and keeping it a small size that would work well on tight and narrow trails. It was too late when I realized that 48" x 96" may have been a better idea. I do prefer the look of the more compact size though.

Thanks for the update. I will take a look tomorrow to see if I can make it work and let you know.

Well, I am still pondering. It will need substantial modifications to work for me including widening the tailgate to the full width of the floor.
