Spare fuel swing down

I've searched and searched some more.. There's a dude with an HJ61 on here who made a cool swing down system to hold two scepter cans in the spare tire location. I can't find the photos that I've seen of it.

Could I get some help locating those?

Thanks

Jason

At least I think that is where I saw it...

Close, that is similar but not the one i'm searching for.

The one i'm looking for is an HJ61, guy lives in Canada, it's sprung over.. He built the little cage himself.

I know I saw it here on ExPo.. Or else i'm going crazy.. :Wow1:

That is slick, but there's a few things that scare me about it. I would rather have an entire cage that opened up as opposed to just a strap holding the can in place. Secondly... i wouldn't want a screw type can under my rig or even a NATO under my rig in case of leakage. I know i have had plenty that do not leak.. but i'd be paranoid the whole time. "If" i did ever do this i'd at least use metal cans instead of plastic. Just in case there was something in the road that protruded into the cage area. That's just my $0.02.

I still think it's a great idea.. i just wouldn't feel comfortable with it.

My factory gas tank is plastic with a skid plate. I think it would be very simple to add a light skid to this design and offer protection there.

I've considered using a full size truck spare tire "winch" to hold a single 5-gallon can under my wrangler. I have the room but the can would definitely need a skid plate incorporated.

Bump... would this present any issues with leakage? I have 2 NATO cans, and worry about storing them with the cap anything other than up.

This would seem to be a much easier solution then an aux tank. I wonder why more folks have not done this?
