Just picked up one of these today, I think its the sport. Tiagra componets and Avid BB5's the parts are bottom of the barrel but I like the bike. I picked it up to ride to work. Any of you guys riding this bike?

I need recommendations on:
Fenders, racks and wheels.

I am going to replace the cranks and cassette ASAP

Uhh, cranks and cassette, even if you go with a bling DA set up, is NOT going to net you any gains. You're talking a few grams that you won't even notice. Best way to shed weight is wheels and tires. Get something like a Stan's wheelset and get rid of those boat anchors, if you really want true noticeable weight savings.

I bought a tricross last year and have been using it for commuting, touring and light offroading. I have rear Ortleib panniers. Expensive but waterproof and well built. I use the roller plus, they are cordura and bombproof. I have the rim brake version, and upgraded to Paul Components for brakes, made in US and amazing quality. I have around 2500 miles on my brooks saddle. Not exactly light but comfy. I bought a cheapo rear rack, Zephyr brand i think. The drop outs on the tricross are bigger than standard road bikes, so i had to bend the rack a bit. Also planning on replacing all the hardware with TI. The bolts look like crap after winter commuting. I have the original crankset and headset, no issues there. I am 180 pounds and going across Iowa for a weeklong trip had roughly 35 pounds loaded all on the rear with no issues. Except for the Crankbrothers pedal breaking off, but they were old anyway
