Speedometer

Apparently Japanese (and maybe others as well) speedometers display miles as well as kilometres. But what does the counter counts (total mileage)? Mls or km's?

In Canada the primary speedo is kph with mph as secondary and the odometer displays km, in the states the primary speedo is mph with kph as secondary and the odometer displays miles.

UUhh? So what's the mileage on this cruiser?

Looks like 158,000 miles. As cruiserguy says, the running "mileage" is given in the same form as the primary, or larger outer speedometer markings.

If its a Japanese import it may have had the speedometer fascia changed to the dual speed type leaving the odometer reading klms.
Im fairly sure Japan is metric.
