OK picking up a SPOT and curious if anyone got the $7.95 option for GEOS Search & Rescue Benefit ???

Yes I see it as cheap insurance if need, helicopter extraction is not cheap.

agreed cheap coverage for when the brown stuff hits the air circulator
plus it is fairly normal for me just to check all the options!
I love my SPOT and will soon be using it so eveyone can track me on the Continental Divide Expedition...leaving in 1 week!!!!

also found a code on the internet to get the tracking service for free for one year
so saved $49 at start

now just if the Hikers on Crown King had one of these instead of starting a fire !!!!

Nothing personal guys, but posting a code to bypass a subscription service for Spot is not in keeping with ExPo rules and ethical conduct.

I don't think they were doing something unethical. It looks like it is a promotion and above board:

DaktariED I hear ya and if it was a hack or something that would be dif for sure

but in defense its not bypassing anything SPOT themselves put those codes out to get you hooked on the service so you would find out how great it is
its not unethical at all

its just a online coupon that is even why the SPOT page has a place to put the code in !

just want to make that clear as I am a straight shooting totally ethical law abiding person and take pride in that
