Squeaking Coming from front drive shaft!!!!!!!!!

So as the title says, i have a really obnoxious squeaking coming from my front drive shaft. i can jack up the front and spin the wheels and it squeaks. if i remove the drive shaft and spin the wheels, complete silence. if i drive without the drive shaft, complete silence. i have replaced both u joints that are right there in the knuckle by the transfer case. i did this one at a time. after replacing each one, complete silence.... until about 5 miles. then the squeaking comes back again.

i crawled under today after driving about 10 minutes and felt the u joints. the one that bolts up with the shaft coming out of the transfer case was hot. especially on one side of it. this makes me think that i've got some friction going on in that yoke. namely, that one side where its hottest. could there be some play in this causing the squeaking?

i need some help because i'm out of ideas lol

It's the center bearing in the double cardan joint at the transfer case end of the driveshaft. Take it all apart and grease or better yet, replace it with a grease able one. Don't wait. If its freezes up it will break and take the transfer case out with it.
Good luck.

Agreed it's probably the centering ball. Much overlooked when greasing everything. If you don't have a greasable unit then buy a needle fitting for your grease gun and inject the grease under the seal that way. Don't wait, do it now.
