Stainless or Natural Aluminum Grill Choice

Looking for a good 2/3 burner stove.

The Coleman I have leaves a lot to be desired. It is ether running way to hot or the flame is blowing out.

Has to be girdle capable.

Prefer it has it`s own stand detachable stand. My Solaire grill has me spoiled with it`s stand

Like the stainless steel or natural aluminum look.

See that Partner has a couple choices but I have heard that flame temp control is`nt so good.

Surely the Expo group has some good ideas.

Thanks !!

Price range?

Well everyone wants stuff for cheap.........But this is one area that I really think you get what you pay for.

Say I have 150 or so in my 2 Colemans. Not happy with how they work. So that is 150 down the drain. Sell `em at a garage sale and get 20 bucks..........

So a new grill is going to start at 150 and go up to 3/400 for the right one.

Size is factor. Like most of the Expo crowd we have only a limited amount of room.

To heck with the stove. Let`s eat !!

Was looking at the Partners. Few questions for ya.
1. Which model do you have ?
2. Does the temp. control work well ? One thing to boil a pot of water ASAP and another to keep a pot of Chili simmering for a bit. That is one of the biggest complaints of the Coleman.
3. Have you used the girdle plate ?
4. Any comments on the Partner optional stand ?
5. I see in your pictures the stove setting on wood. Does the bottom stay cool enough to not melt say a plastic table ?

Sorry for all the questions but I have found the Partner site a bit confusing.

1. Which model do you have ? 18" WITH WIND SCREEN ( WILL BE MODDING IT SO THE WIND SCREEN CAN BE REMOVED)
2. Does the temp. control work well ? One thing to boil a pot of water ASAP and another to keep a pot of Chili simmering for a bit. That is one of the biggest complaints of the Coleman. SIMMER HUH? I WILL SEE WHAT COOKING I CAN DO TO CHECK THAT FOR YOU (GIVE ME A WEEK)
3. Have you used the girdle plate ? NO BUT I HAVE ONE I INTEND ON TRYING
4. Any comments on the Partner optional stand ? NOPE I ALWAYS SEEM TO HAVE SOMETHING FOR IT TO STAND ON, SINCE THIS WILL BE A TRAILER STOVE i WILL ALWAYS HAVE SOMETHING FOR IT TO MOUNT ON.
5. I see in your pictures the stove setting on wood. Does the bottom stay cool enough to not melt say a plastic table ? I WILL ALSO GET YOU SOME FEEDBACK ON THIS, I DONT THINK IT GETS GOT ENOUGH TO MELT PERHAPS WARP BUT NOT MELT. i HAVE HAD IT ON WOOD, GRANITE, AND CARDBOARD WILL NO ILL EFFECTS.

Same stove and what he said above. But I have the stand (powder coated) and like it - the stand is actually larger for the other stoves in their line but in front of the Partner I put a heat resistant cutting board giving me valuable prep space. My childrens children will inherit this stove.

Hello again guys.

Been doing some more research and am looking at the Brunton Wind River or the Partner 18". Just like you folks suggested.

Any preferred vendors ?

My main issue is being able to modulate the flame temp. This is going to be a BIG factor in deciding which way to go.

Just a thought, you might want to also look into a Camp Chef All Terrain Sports Stove. This stove has detachable & adjustable aluminum legs, griddles & grill box. They also have carry bags for their stoves and accessories, helps keep the gear nice when transporting. They are not all aluminum or all stainless steel, but they are made of a combination of those metals.

A Burnton knockoff ????

Ok for an accurate test what would you like me to cook? Honestly if your not in a huge rush I will have results by Saturday I need to know what you'd like me to cook and I will give you my honest opinion. I could make my armpit protein which is a spin on Moroccan Chicken Recipe floating around here somewhere. I can cook it and then set the burners as low as possible to see what happens if a quick bubble continues than it might not be low enough if no bubbles are present it might be ok for simmering. I imagine you won't want to have to use spacers to control your heat so I'll leave that option out as it is a waste of fuel.
