Standard size of your nose box?

For those of you with trailers and a nose box, what is the size (dimensions) of the one you are using? Do you wish it was a bit bigger or smaller? Taller or shorter?

I'm very early in the design of a multi-use trailer, and I'm trying to figure out my overall length for the needed materials. I'm also trying to figure out how big I should be making the platform at the front to house the nose box and whatever other goodies I end up mounting up front.
I will eventually be putting a couple of batteries in the nose box along with an inverter, and then put a divider in the box to separate the electrics from the chains/straps etc. that will also go in there.

my is not the classical "nose box" but just want to say that my 48" x 20" by 18" tall box is already pretty much full. I will post some pictures in the next week or so with the finished result.

For now, (my build in progress) see that my box has a charger/dist panel on the left side (about 14" wide) and the dual batteries on the right side (about 22" wide). this leaves only 12" of extra space in the middle. Plus, I have to put my rolled 30 ft AC power cord in here too.

I would guess that a more standard 36" wide "nose/tongue box" would be crammed full, just with your power/electrical stuff.

Even I have now realized that I will not have much "extra" space up front for other stuff, like wheel chocks, rope, chain, recovery equip, etc.

take a look at my pics already posted here to get some ideas

Thanks for the tips Dan!
I also just added your build to my favourites. ;)

The trailer that I'm designing is going to be a bit tall, I'm thinking 28"-30" walls on the main box. So, I'll have more room in the height dept. to be able to build a big nose box if that's the direction I end up going.
I was thinking about stacking the batteries on top of each other in some sort of fashion, maybe on a removable shelf system or something?

For this summer as I get the trailer made, I probably won't even build the nose box as I really won't be needing it right away, I just want to make sure I build the space required for it, into the design of the trailer. The outside width of the main box is going to be 56", and I'm going to have the fenders run into little platforms on the sides of the box, so that will add additional space to the sides. So, I could have a 6' wide nose box that could easily be 24" tall without a problem - and from what you've said, I might just need it! lol
