starting a small photography business

.........Im still stuck on a name, it seems like such a vital part since it will be the brand and how my work will be known but at the same time, its just a name and my work should speak for itself. Still struggling a bit but getting closer, I still appreciate all of your input, its hugely helpful.

I had a professional photographer tell me to name our business something other than our name. If we built it up to a fair size, we could sell it, when we retired. THis is more difficult if you use your name.

We use our last name for now.

One thing to consider: You will be producing professional photographs or portraits. Not snapshot or pictures. Anyone can take pictures or snapshots. Your "Snapture" idea sounds too much like snapshots.

Nelson Studios would be fine. Just keep it professional. Create some branding (logo, colors, etc.) that people will recognize in a year or two.

Good news, I just bought www.nelsonimages.com and am preparing to file the LLC papers to register either J. Nelson Images or Nelson Images, not sure yet, alhough Im leaning towards J. Nelson Images. Regardless, I feel that I have a good domain name thats easy to say and find online.
