Steel Bumper Inside Stock Bumper

I'm considering removing the picnic table attached to the front of my JKU and just running the steel frame inside it. I have a eurospec JK and the steel frame is identical to the J8 front bumper, ie it's straight all the way and not bent in at the end like the US JK's.
I have a Sahara Tan Rubicon so it can look a lil J8ish. What do you think? Has anyone else done this?

Here's a pic. Our steel frame is identical.

When I had my JK I ditched the plastic outer "bumper" and cut off the bent ends of the US spec inner metal bumper and ran it for a year or so. I think it improve the look of the front end immensely. If yours looks like the J8 bumper, I say go for it.

I am unsure what rules and regulations apply to this kind of modifications in ZA; for example you wouldn't really have a problem with that in North America but you will in certain countries in Europe (Germany comes to mind). If you can pass whatever critical police eye on the road and any regular safety checkups you may have, the JK looks indeed better (more "real", if you like) with just the naked steel bumper, so go with it.

Thanks for the replies. Won't have any issues with the law. Anything goes in Africa.. Heck, you can drive 100mph on the highway and only get a moderate fine.
I think I'll wait till I can afford some proper steel bumpers. No use taking shortcuts!
