I like that rack. I’m actually going to get a quote for a similar rack that fits just outside the shell so I can keep both on the truck.

Thanks. I had the fabricator turn it down to about a 2/10 compared to what he normally does. Lots of SEMA builds under his belt. He kind of specializes in fixing crap other shops build for SEMA that don't actually work in the real world.

Been busy with this thing. I needed power windows and locks. After 20 years of vehicles with power it’s hard to go back. Also upgraded the stereo and speakers.

Worked on a SEMA build once where we had to cut the upper shock mounts off because you couldn't get the bolts out. :poop:

Cabin Fever got the best of me so I made the trek out west to the Rockies. Roughly a 12 hour drive from St. Louis. This was the first real test for the truck. She was flawless. No overheating, no bogging down as I climbed to 11,000 ft up in the mountains. The 8 ft bed makes sleeping so much easier than the 6ft bed in the Ram. I will say that it is a stiff ride in rough terrain, but I knew that when I bought it. All together it was roughly 2300 miles in 3 days. Oh. And got the windows tinted at 20% all the way around. Nice looking truck. I have a '96 F350 single cab utility body with the same engine as yours. Has around 160K on it, still going strong.

It is starting off in the right direction. Ditched the aluminum running boards and the hubcaps (both are for sale if you’re interested! ). Also got rid of the pinstripes and stickers. Never been a fan of all the badging in any vehicle. Wheels are the stock 16s. That won’t be acceptable for long. I painted them black. Also painted the rear bumper. I’ll be looking for a more meaty front and rear bumper set up as well. View attachment 584653

Miss my 96 extended cab, 2wd PSD. When I was shopping I ran across a guy that had a version of your truck. Talking to him, he said he got 8mpg. Uphill. Downhill. Towing. Didn't seem to matter 'cause he got 8mpg.

I went for the diesel...

Current truck's a Ram 2500 4dr shortbed with a manual. Not the same truck at all and I miss the PSD. DON'T miss the 7 GALLON oil changes in the diesel tho.

I did notice the bumper. It’s hard to tell if it’s a replacement or not. Bolts look original.

If my math serves me correctly, I averaged 10mpg over 2300 miles.

That’s not bad for such a big heavy, old truck with a big block.

The diesel bumpers had the openings for more air. Your 460 would not have. Sweet truck. Keep it coming.
