STUCK pictures

Need some more detail on the above pics? Where and what vehicles? What military are you in? Anyone hurt in the second pic?

The rigs are M151's, or MUTT's. They are 4 wheel independent rigs, often called Jeeps.

Judging by the helmet, (looks like the newer Kevlar) they are recent pics.

The US stopped using the 151's in '86, when the HUMMERs came into use.

Last weekend I worked on the "Mesabi Mountain Trail", which (when opened) will be the only ORV trail in the state of Minnesota that is not inside an OHV park!!

Needed some help on this hill:

And while I wasn't 'stuck', (I drove 100' without the tire:Wow1:) I did have to stop and put on the spare:snorkel:

Not to mention, go back and pick up the tire and tailpipe! I lost the muffler earlier in the day.

Certainly going to be a world class trail! It takes us 1 1/2 hours to drive the 2.5 miles in to cut more trail right now! And they haven't started on the obstacles yet:coffeedrink:

I keep waiting, but Ricky just doesn't get stuck!

Slightly more mundane than some of the dramatic efforts here.

I'd bought the cruiser little more than an hour previously and was driving home. I have no excuse.

Kindly photographed by my Defender owning mate. The ruts were just too deep for my little 29" wheels.

Not quite stuck but I was ten feet later. Made it through on the second attempt.

I've now taken the hint and fitted 255/85 16" tyres :)

1. M151, early 90', the southern part of Israel. These small mutts's can carry load as heavy as their own weight. Now only few are still active ,but still have some advantage over Hummers, sometimes small, crowded and silent is better then huge and loud.
2. Army days are over for me..
3. Surprisingly only light bruises, no broken bones.

Hanging out at a friends property yesterday in Rosewood Florida when the kids com pulling up covered in mud from riding the quads.

The parents asked where they'd been and they said in the area that is all flooded out from recent rains.

Of course this meant us adults...word used lightly...had to go check it out. This turned into a few hour ordeal after one of the trucks got stuck on it's frame rails.

Apparently a F-250 is much heavier than a 400cc quad :bike_rider:

Lesson learned = Don't open the door to get out when your floorbboards are below the water line.

I tried taking the bypass and ended up sliding down into the mud pit. Funny thing is I went back there a year later and got stuck in the same exact spot.

My most recent episode of getting stuck. This is back in January of this year, I was checking to see what my neighbor who rents my fields for farming/gazing had completed that day. I noticed he used my little Jeep trial I had set-up as a shortcut between fields. Apparently, earlier that day he himself managed to get his tractor stuck. The ruts the tractor tires made were so deep and the mud so very soft, I managed to get some recovery practice in for the day. Fifty-five minutes of shoveling and winching in the dwindling light and rain I managed to plow/pull myself out. After this incident, I purchase meself some MaxTraxs (Thanks to Sierra Expeditions for stocking them) becuase they would have been textbook example for this case.
