I am taking the class this weekend and would like to go into it not totally blind. I have been reading over on ADV and am excited to take the class. Does anyone have any reccomendations on resources or study guides?

Thanks,

REX

I wouldn't worry about it, the class (MSF Basic Rider Course) is set up for folks who know little or nothing about motorcycles prior to the course.

Just go and have fun; that's what motorcycles are about!

Wait, you mean you dont read each and every post of mine?:Wow1: You can't read my mind?! The class I'm referring to is the Basic Rider Course put on by the motorcycle safety foundation. I have wanted to learn to ride for quite some time and now I get to take the class.

search for "motorcycle crash" on Utube

and insure you don't do any of the riding techniques pictured:costumed-smiley-007

seriously the basic course covers all you need to know......

balance and clutch control can't be learn't from a book.

Hopefully you already know the roadsigns......

In the UK they teach bike riding slightly diferent than the law....ie you are expected to speed on your test.........but just a little:)

The Basic Rider Course is geared for folks who have never touched a motorcycle. Go, have a good time, and enjoy yourself. Then buy a motorcycle. You'll never regret it!

As it turns out, no study was needed. The written test was so easy I think I could have passed it with out taking the class. Some of the riding skills however.........Not so much.

.....except...forget the "pretend" part....they are trying to kill you! :ylsmoke:

Neither Rob or Andrew are paranoid either. J.D. McGrath nearly took me out on Olivas Adobe Dr. ~20 years ago. My GPz 305 moved his Blazer's rear axle sideways nearly a foot! I went UNDER the fuel tank. ~175 feet of road rash and it could have been a lot worse.....

My XR250 has a plate, but I don't use it.
