Subagon

Did a search to see if anyone had posted about these guys before and nothing came up, so wanted to give them a plug.

The Baker brothers from Redding, CA run Subagon, an outfit that will build Vanagons and Syncros to one's specifications. They're primarily known for putting Subaru SVX engines into these rigs and for converting them to 4x4.

I don't have personal experience with a build, but I've met one of the brothers (Joe) and he seems to be a real upstanding guy. The website is www.subagon.com.

Thought some of you might be interested in this. I have nothing to gain from this plug - just putting the name out there.

I've been in contact with the boys from Subagon, they are good guys that do some really cool vans, if I were buying a Westy it would for sure be from them!!!

These all seem to be the engine conversion specialists mentioned on TheSamba. Then of course there are the new OE or 2.5L engines from GoWesty to keep it "stock"

I can only imagine the WRX powered vans with turbo...LOL at 80mph on the highway waving to cars...
