• Most of the Subaru's for the US are made in Atlanta, GA. Only a few models are actually made in Japan, such as the some of the Forester models are made in Japan and some of the early model Tribeca's. Toyota Motor Company owns half of Subaru.

Aside from replacing the stereo with a JVC double din unit, it's pretty stock - which is fine with me. I like the simple interiors of these things.
I think you'll be happy when you get one. It's a really nice driving vehicle. Replacing the front and rear sway bars with STi bars made it outright fun.

It's a difficult choice between a MT with the 2.5 and an XT with the auto.

Isn't the AWD "better" when paired with the MT, versus the auto??

My next vehicle will be a Forester, hopefully soon. They seem tough enough to be able to do SUV duty, pulling small sailboats, camping, snowboarding, biking, that stuff.

It's easier to off-road with the auto, especially when climbing hills and crawling over rocks. Plus in the mountains the turbo makes up for high altitude.

If I remember right, for at the least the 1st generations of Outbacks.

Auto:90/10 Split, then 50/50 when slippage occurs.
Manual: 50/50 all time.

The 09-13 Forester auto 4EAT is 50/50 in gears 1 and 2 or full throttle and 60/40 above 40 mph.

Any one know if a Light bar for a Forester will fit on a Outback?
