(@ coppertop: Same here, but I'm still tossing around putting fozzy suspension on my wrx rather than king springs)
I would recommend the former, While the kings (with a higher rate), both OEM and especially raised kings can and do provide lift, they also extend the strut such that its more at the extension limit, so less extension but more compression, but with a stiffer spring its a bit moot RE: compression in such a light vehicle.
Living life closer to max extension, and harder extension when it happens, means shorter strut life. BUT with the 03-08 fozz strut AND maintaining body-weight compression at the sweet spot in the shock . . .
