Super inspiring thread. ...My budget build. 2003 Forest XS. Picked it up earlier this year. Since, I've replaced the head gaskets and misc maintenance, added the rack, added the lights. Will probably go with primitive skid plates soon, geolandars A/T's, maybe a lift, and shovel, axe, and other nicknacks. Also, hoping to get some action shots soon.

Gone to the dogs.
We recently replaced our 10 year old Tacoma with a new '16 3.6R Outback. Last week I had a 2" Torklift Ecohitch installed to pull our little camp trailer, it should be a nice little setup.

05 Outback XT

New poster to the group. 05 Outback XT Thule crossbars. Working on lift, adding 16's for offroad tire, roof basket, etc. Definitely sticking with the black on black going on right now. IMG_20160723_150521.jpg

Love me some Outback XT. Wish they still offered that configuration with the 2.5T and manual transmission... sigh.

Great combo. Sorta silmilar to ours. 4x6 Lifetime tent/utility trailer and 2.5 Limited OB. Almost 90,000 on it though! We typically do 21mpg trip averages with the trailer. Bikes on the car roof knocks us down into the 18mpg averages. Its been a fantastic combo. Great road machine that can get back in off the pavement easily when the urge strikes.

Thanks - we haul our kayaks/SUPS and bikes on the trailer, works pretty well. Looking forward to some road trips soon with the new set up!

Recently completed the Overland Kitchen build from Scout Equipment. I debuted it at the ADF booth at WCSS in Tacoma Washington area last week then took the slow road back to SoCal. Had a great trip and I have to say this thing is a game changer for camping trips. Weight is still being determined so weight questions will not be answered. Its not as much as you think plus the stiffer King springs hold everything up nicely ;)

FozRoamer.. That kitchen setup is awesome. My only comment would be that the piece above the fridge appears to be "sagging". Not sure if that is just an illusion or not, but something to look into.

Some pics of my 2015 Outback 2.5l Premium. First modification was a 19mm rear swaybar for better road handling. Then I got the Yakima LoadWarrior basket (probably never use it but it was too cheap to pass up). Then I got carried away. 225/65/17 Yokohama Geolander G015 tires on Sparco Terra wheels, LP Aventure brush guard with armor plates and the LP Aventure Skid plate. Not pictured is my "brush guard enhancement", an aluminum frame covered with 1/2" hardware cloth that I use once a month for my trip "up the mountain".

And from a different trip, 3 days in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, parked next to my buddy's '13 Forester with a 2" ADF lift and 29" General Grabbers:
