i have the same thing but with the CVT. How did the Geolanders affect your MPG? I have them on my frontier and love them. Just curious if the wife would use them enough to justify the MPG hit.

no noticeable hit to the mpg's, it has hovered around 22mpg mostly city with the old all-seasons and the geolandars.

Bought my first Subaru last month: 2015 OB 2.5i base. So far, not much done to it, but got my tax return today, so I will be working on making it a wee bit more protected for the trails. Swapped out the stock Bridgestone duellers with Hankook dynapros. Discovered stock tire height (225/65/17) is a ridiculous size to find all terrains in. So upgraded to 235s. I enjoy looking through the various builds and pics on here for Subies (long time ExPo member with Xterra and Jeeps prior).
Planning to drive up to Arctic Ocean next year on the new road to Tuktoyaktuk, thus my build progress will be aimed toward solo backcountry cold adventuring.

Looking for some advice on modifying a 2018 3.6R Outback.
I've been searching for a new car/truck for a while now and the Outback seems like it might be the sweet spot of mostly road with some rough dirt/ gravel/sand roads in pursuit of trout.
Once I have the vehicle I'm considering tires and possibly 17" wheels, a 2" lift, skid plates, lights, sway bars. Maybe a bumper guard and the canister filter bypass as I do go through some water and woods. And a way to carry a full-size spare.
Assuming I don't add everything at once as I wouldn't mind getting to know the car, in what order would you add things?
Tires (with or without wheels)
Sway bars
Skid plates
Canister bypass
Lift
Bumper guard
Lights
Hitchgate
Which lift? LP Adventure or ADF?

Tires, plates, lift. The rest to your needs. I would skip the sway bars it feels like they fixed they improved the horrible body roll in the model refresh.
IMO if you're considering getting a hitchgate, you should plan to upgrade the rear springs to deal with the sag.

Is it worth it to go to the smaller 17" wheel? I must admit I like the way they look, but to save a few thousand off the top may not be bad.
Any recommendations/experience with lift (ADF or LP) or plate (primitive or LP) manufacturers? I was also considering beefier springs as I tend to load a lot of stuff.

Yeah 17" is worth it just for the better AT tire choices. One of the reasons why I stuck to premium trim.
I go ADF, but design wise spacers are spacers. Just get whatever has the least build lead time.

What is the best exterior and interior colour for keeping dirt down?
Black and white cars are out. As are red and blue. I do like the Wilderness Green and the Magnetite Grey, but that leaves me with the choice between ivory, black or grey interior leather. (I do like the tan leather that comes with the Touring level, but don't want all the other stuff that comes along with it.)
So, of the three leather colours, which do you find requires less maintenance to look good. I would default to black, but if it's anything like a black exterior it will require continual effort to keep clean. Does the ivory get show dirt under normal use?
Has anyone had a Sub warranty issue after a lift?
