And I have much more of problem. I do not like the sound of the engine. It is uneven. Of a fuel filter a little drips fuel and runs down the drain tube. What is this?

Congratulations. Half the fun is working on our vehicles. The never ending project is what I say.

We say it too "it's not the destination, but the journey that matters". Keep us up to date and good luck!

Good to hear from you Valyidol. I love this thread and it's great to hear you are taking trips in the burb, I bet it turns a lot of heads in that part of the world.

Val, follow the links and download the Technical Manuals for the CUCV. The American Military Cargo, Utility, Commercial, Vehicle or CUCV for short, was typically equiped with a GM 6.2l Diesel. The same as you have in your suburban. The TM's are full service manuals for these vehicles and contain everything you need to know about fixing a 6.2l diesel. Plus, they're free.

You'll want the Unit Maintenance Manual
http://www.steelsoldiers.com/upload/CUCV/TM9-2320-289-20.pdf

The Intermediate Direct Support/General Support Maintenance Manual
http://www.steelsoldiers.com/upload/CUCV/TM9-2320-289-34.pdf

And the Direct and General Support Maintenance for Engine, Diesel, 8 Cylinder, Naturally Aspirated, Fuel-Injected, Water Cooled
http://www.steelsoldiers.com/upload/CUCV/TM9-2815-237-34.pdf

These contain the instructions for maintenance of the 6.2l diesel.

Thank you I have this manuals. But there is not information about removing and istallationg pre-cups. Only " Remove four precombustion chambers (18) from cylinder head (1)".
But I don't understand how to do it.
