So the wife tells me I need a bigger rig. I currently have a yj that I love. So looking at big roomey rigs. I dont want to spend alot 3k tops. It must be able to tow my yj or my tent trailer. I have owned a few FSJ's and 3 surburbans like them bolth. What I'm after is 35s room and power.

you know my bias....

I will try to ignore that.

The 'burb is gonna be more modern in some ways, but the Gwag is going to have parts compatibility with your truck. The burb has more space but will be harder to park. The gwag is probably more orphaned than the burb, but parts availability is no problem

I dunno - for me, I wouldn't buy the burb unless I was regularly gonna need the extra space in the back...

I just need more room than a yj offers. When i load up 2 dogs the wife and say our hunting gear its full. I have no space for tools and aney extra gear.

well a few phone calls I located A 1989 wagoneer for 300 bux. I also found a 1991 burb 1500 for 500.

so rigs I can get wag stock as a rock burb has a 4" lift and 35s lift has zero miles.

I still cant deside

Or....go to www.wagonmaster.com and drop $20,000+ on a low mileage, rust free, very well maintained GWAG and stand out from the crowd.

I also liked the advice to buy both and sell the one that doesn't work out!

That's crazy! You can pick up a running Grand Wag off of CL for under $2k. They want $20-$30k for these?

I thought it was bad that people were getting $25k for a refurbished FJ60 but this is just nuts!

Still, I've got to tip my hat to them. If they can find a way to get someone to pay that kind of money for a Wagoneer, good for them! (shaking head)

Of those two choices it would be a hard call. I liked the size of my Cherokee Chief, but not the power train or the rust. I've made mods to AMC V8 engines at an engine rebuilding shop and that cured me. The TH400 is good though.
I have had two Subs since then. The first died of cancer. Buy a late version of Motomech's body style if that's what you decide that you want.

Mine is now FS because I just don't use it enough to justify keeping it:
