Suitcase for airline travel?

I use weekly a Samsonite Made with ballistic cloth….

So far 3 years of weekly use it still holding up strong.

I do only use as a carry on cause I don't check bags/ but it so far has held up great.

After 12 years and a full passport (travel for work) the retracting handle on my Travel Pro gave out... went to the dealer and they replaced the handle for free. I figure there is at least another 12 years in the bag. Lots of good suggestions here - luggage is worth spending some money on.

...forgot to add that if I didn't like having a roller, I would buy a Tom Bihn bag. I use their Empire Builder briefcase and Smart Alec backpack and love them - exceptional quality.

Mak's Hong Kong. Hard sided durable checked luggage. Mine has been frequently traveling with me for more than 5 years. Bought it out of necessity because of a lesser suitcases weakness. Posting from Shanghai today. It is with me. Cost about $50 USD.IMG_20150310_180557.jpg

Well, since my travel schedule got moved up, We bought a full set of wenger swiss army hard cases. Seem to be sturdy, not pelican sturdy but good enough to get us to florida this time out. We bought four of them for the price of 1 pelican piece.

RedOxx. That's pretty much all I use now. I use their Flying Boxcar, and I've had it loaded with 60lbs of diving gear, dragged it across concrete and asphault, dropped it down an escalator, had it strapped to the roof when I was driving through thick bushes, and all manner of mistreatment. It doesn't even show much wear, looks pretty much new.

Seriously well built stuff, and made right here in the city where I live. I've toured their factory, and their staff is just awesome. QA is exceptional. They don't let anything sub par out the door. Nothing but quality from RedOxx.

I travel weekly and use Filson bags for the clothes and a roller pelican for the tools. If buying today I would not even shop but instead buy what I consider the best bag for living out of ever invented. Filson outfitter. http://www.filson.com/products/outfitter-travel-bag.70151.html For 15 years I hualed around the older version until a warranty claim gave me a Pullman bag. I like it but miss the outfitter. It's big enough for two weeks and compressed down as an overnighter. Side pockets for dirty clothes while clean is in the middle. Stinky shoes go in a separate bottom. Perfect bag.
