Summertime Exposition/Camping Tent recomendations (Mothers Day gift)

Mother's day is around the corner and I'm looking at getting my mother a tent/shelter she can set up during the summer. She's a teacher and does a lot of volunteer events during the summer. It also needs to double for camping, since my younger sister, who still lives nearby, will want to take it out camping with our mom.

So here's what I need. Easy to set up, easy to take down, preferably by one person. Needs to be cool in humid summers and warm on chilly nights. It needs to be durable, since its going to be used in Indiana where the winds, and weather, are unpredictable and can go from one extreme to the other in a single day. (I have literally gone from snow in the morning to walking around in shorts by evening.) High winds are the norm. It also needs to be affordable (read cheap) but not cheap junk cheap. Finally, it needs to be roomy, say 6 to 8 person sizes. It must also have a floor of some kind. It gets real wet, real quick back home.

Here is what I've been looking at.

Escape 5 turbo tent, Camping
This is my first choice, however, getting it on time may be the problem. It is the easiest to set up from what I can see, while still being rugged enough to survive Indiana weather. Plus I think my mom could get in and out easy enough to really enjoy it when she goes out to events.

This one looks like it would be easy to set up, but I'm not sure on how well it would hold up to wind. I've seen steel poles bend and break before in similar designs.

COLEMAN WeatherMaster WeatherTec 6 Person Family Camping Tent w/ Screened Room
This one looks nice, and easy enough to set up, though again, I'm not sure how the quality stacks up, given the price.

TEEPEE TENT CAMPING
This one I'm looking at simply for variety. I'm mostly refering to the style rather than this specific tent. Probably the simplest to set up, but still tough and comfortable. It would definitely work well during the fall football season, though I'm sure my mom would like something she could stand up in.

Now, she does have one of those pop-up shelter type tents, but this is the third one she's had and they keep breaking on her. Not through abuse either, but just because she uses them all the time and the wind can really pick them up and send them flying.

Of course, I'm also open to other suggestions. I'm just looking for some experienced feedback on tents that will work for what I need.

I would skip the tp; spin the wheel on any of the other three. coleman may offer better warranty if there's a problem down the road. nice gesture on your part!

The Coleman is going to be difficult to setup with one person. I have a large Coleman, it has been a great tent. However it would be extremely difficult to setup with one person.

Thanks for the advice. I think I'm going to go with the Turbo tent. I'm going to call them up on Monday and see what they have available. Hopefully they have the one I'm wanting still.

Well, I got the Turbotent in the mail this week. I even managed to set it up just to check it. Its a little heavier than what I expected, but not much more than the pop-up shelters she's used to. And this sets up SOOOO much easier. Literally, just unwrap and unfold. I'm very happy with it. I just hope it withstands Indiana weather as well as its advertised. Its definitely roomy inside. Even I can stand up and I'm almost a foot taller than my mom. I'm not sure if she'll ever use the vestibule that came with it, but I'm sure she'll like that as well.

Thanks again for all the advice.

I had a Turbo Tent but returned after a few camp outs. The deal breaker was the weather flaps on the outside of the windows. You had to go outside in the rain if it came up suddenly. It is possible to adjust from the inside thru the screen zippers but I found it very tedious. There was also something about the door arrangement I did not like but can't recall the problem. Should confess that I am very fussy about tents and have tried literally dozens. Hope mom is happy!

Skip the Coleman unless you plan on camping only when dry, or light weather. I have been soaked in mine since day one.
