GREAT work trackhead. I look forward to seeing the finished product at some point. you should bring it to the lowrangeoffroad show and shine this summer. I believe its on september 10th but sean would know for sure.

My goal is to have it done by the end of August, then drive it around a bunch to make sure it's reliable, work out the kinks, etc.

My wife and I have an October trip planned to the Maze with our newborn, so that's the goal, get it done before then.

Hoping to do a Wildernest style camper. That way my wife and youngster can sleep in that, and I can sleep perpendicular to them over the cab. Sort of a big "L" shaped configuration.

Got the final fiberglass layer on the main part of the camper. Also got the wheel flares built and glassed. This is the final layer, then when my windows get here next week, I'll cut out holes for those and install them.

Got the first layer of glass on the pop top today as well. That turned out pretty well, but I've got a ton more hours I need to put into it before I can mount it.

Not sure on the final finish. Might just leave it rough, prime it, and paint it. No reason to make it all fancy, as I'm building this thing to abuse it, not parade around town.

If it was me, I woudl get it as smooth as I can. It will make cleaning soooo much easier.

True, but I have no idea at this point how to do that. No hurry though, a little research should do the trick,

Well, you are off to a good start by laying it down smooth to begin with. You can load up a couple extra layers of resin then sand it down smooth, combined with a light coat of body filler to fill in the pin holes.

I used to use 'idiot boards' while fairing yacht hulls years ago. Works well on flat and curved surfaces. These are better than anything else for removing the same amount of surface over a large area unlike machine hand sanders which can do a lot of damage in a small area. A good point to work from with your research :D

Nice looking build.

i know im a little too late, but you should have extended the rear frame and pushed it all back about 5 inches. i am on my 8th sami, and they really do a lot better with a little more length.

but, i think this is a cool concept. keep up the good work.

15 x 24" slider for the right side. 15 x 24" non-slider for back door.

After some Youtube research, I will do the endless sanding when the time comes. Still a ways off.
