Swing away tyre carrier . Hinge question.

I will soon be starting a swing away tyre carrier for the back of my sprinter. Question is what would be best for the hinge bush . Bronze or machinable plastic (acetal etc).

Any opinions appreciated :ylsmoke:

Simple is always better to me. Bearings seam a bit of a faff. Acetal is in my scrap bin so that seamed a good choice so I`ll maybe go steel bar with acetal washers and a grease nipple.

I've used this kit twice and couldn't be happier.

I find these one of the best. Uses a sleeve to hold the spindle so no welding directly on spindle to hold it.

Got an axel spindle, that's what we did for my jeer bumper. Worked well.

I'm a fan of this, you can get lightweight trailer axle spindles very cheaply and it has all the part you need, just weld it up.
