Table build

I want to have a table that extends out the side of my trailer. thinking roughly 20x40.
Any suggestions on materials and mounting ideas?

I want to make sure its sturdy. Dogs and kids running around dont want it getting knocked around like the folding tables do

It if were my trailer, for a standing table, I would loose the fenders and make a table that ran the length of the trailer that also serves as a fender (similar to stock trailers). May not be as deep as you want but the length should be good.

For a sitting table, I use tables made to slip into 2" receivers attached to bottom of tub.

It's a section of cheap ikea table top for at the front of the store called the "as is" where they sell scrap pieces of kits that had some broken parts.... it was like $10

aww no ikea near me. Im thinking i might try 1/2 in thick starboard like they use in marine application and cutting boards. being 18in wide and supported the whole length on one side it should hold up i think

I work in the marine industry even supported along one side starboard will sag/bend. Be better off making it from a good grade of marine plywood with Formica/arborite top and bottom.
