I searched through the forums and a Google search but I cannot seem to find the Toyota recommended service schedule for a 2009 Tacoma. Does anyone happen to have a link? Thanks.

Thank you for the quick response.

Do you guys with the 4.0L enginge replace the spark plugs as is recommended by Toyota? I know for warranty purposes you would have to, but it seems a bit frequent.

I change them every 30k as recommended

Spark Plugs: If its your first time changing the plugs, you will notice that the Driver Side has NGK, and the passenger has Denso Plugs. Toyota has been doing this for eons, and I really cant confirm why they do this.

Using 6 identical Denso plugs is what I recommend, gapped @ .040 to .041. OEM does not use iridium so I recommend non-iridium plugs per OEM engine build specs.

Resetting the "Maintenance Required" light on 2005+ Tacoma:
1. Turn ignition key to 'ON' and press the odometer button until the display reads actual mileage... not Trip A or B.
2. Turn ignition key to OFF.
3. Hold in the same button you used in step 1.
4. While holding the button in, turn ignition key to 'ON'.
5. The 'Maint Reqd' light should blink and go out!

If you want to run an iridium plug, go and to you local Toyota dealership and get part number 90080-91180. Then you can go every 60k.

I suggest sticking with the recommended NGKs or Densos. If for no other reason to see how your engine is doing. That is, if you don't already know how to, learn how to read spark plugs. They can tell you a lot. If you do go iridium, I'd still pull them at 30k just to read them.
Amsoil is also a good reference for fluids and their capacities.

I don't think the service schedule ever tells you to change the serpentine belt or the thermostat, but I would at 100k, I did. They are a couple inexpensive items that can stop you dead in the middle of nowhere. Even if they are performing well, change them and keep the old ones in the truck as battle spares. And I highly recommend buying these items OEM.
