Tacomaoffroaders truck...

Hey guys!
Been lurking here for while.
And I have to say I'm very impressed with everybodies rigs!

I've got an '02 Tacoma DC 4X4
list of mods are as follows:
Corbeau Ultra SS seats up front
Demello Double Tube Sliders
Demello Bed Bar w/48" High-lift
Badland bumpers front and rear
Ramsey Patriot 9K winch
Donahoe Coilovers
Camburg Upper A-Arms
Donahoe Rear reservoir shocks
Deaver leaf pack 8-leaf
265/75 R16 BFG All-Terrains

Pic of truck after install of new suspension

I'm going to be adjusting the coilovers today and extending the rear brake line.
I'll install a pic afterwards

I was thinking of a way to put a fridge in the back of the truck while keeping seats available and I think the only logical thing to do is to take the back seat out and get some aftermarket seats and build a custom frame for them so I can put one seat on either side.

Any suggestions as to what I should do next?
I was hoping to pull out the bed liner and getting it Line-Xd or Rhino lined, and then putting a 4-way tonneau cover on it http://www.4waytonneaucover.com/purchase

and then getting a toolbox built on the passenger side of the truck so that the weight is distributed more evenly.

Hope ya'll like the truck!

Laurence, welcome to ExPo!! Very nice Taco you got there, I am sure you will be getting a lot of inquiries about your seat mod. That is I think the biggest complaint I have heard about the Taco's, the front seats are not really comfy. Again, welcome and enjoy the wealth of knowledge on this board, and don't be shy to share your knowledge as well.

Welcome to the forum :), and great taste in vehicles ;)

Any feedback on the Corbeaus? Seats are HIGH on my list for the Arctic run.

Thanks guys!

Yeah I love the corbeaus, I only get complaints from friends and girls who have to climb up and over to get into the seats. Also people complain about the 4 pt harness's.

but yeah the seats are very comfortable.

As I mentioned I might pull out my rear seat and put some other aftermarket seats in the back one behind driver one behind passenger. probably an easier seat to get into and find a way to maintain the stock seat belts. since my biggest complaint is the 4 pt. harnesses.... But I love'em!

TacomaOffroader,

That's a great looking truck with practical mods. I've been looking into new seats for a '03 DC. I cannot find a bolt in bracket for aftermarket seats. Did you fab your own brackets? Can you post any pics of this mod?

Thanks!

Thanks Tim,
Now what I did was got some brackets from cobeau that said they worked, they went in alright but the slider isn't the greatest-as opposed to the stock sliders either mine were messed up or something but yeah they aren't that great.

What I will do for the aftermarket seats I put in the back will create some brackets. But that's many many years down the road... when I have a solid job.

I did plenty of research a few years ago before deciding which brand of spray-on bed liner to go with. I've gone with Line-X twice now on two trucks that I've owned, and wouldn't hesitate to use them again. My friends that went with Rhino aren't too pleased with it now. It seems like it just doesn't hold up as well in the long run (or maybe it's just the extreme desert heat that it can't handle). Last I checked, Line-X also has a better guarantee than Rhino, and will fix any issues for free (even if it's from regular use). From what I've seen the Rhino liner is a little bit softer, and seems to wear down quicker. That just my $0.02 ;)

And welcome to the forums!!

I would have to say that the line-x seems to stay nice looking much longer. The rhino wears very well, but does show it's age quicker, especially with the uv guard. I'm not sure if mine was applied improperly, but the uv guard is peeling off anywhere it's exposed to the sun constantly. I'm sure they will address this, but I haven't had a chance to give them the truck yet.
Some uv guard though......
