TAILLIGHT GUARDS: How Do The Go On?

I just picked up a pair of nice taillight guards (the bars type), but I can't figure out how they attach. Little help please. Photos of yours?

Mine were screwed into the top and bottom of the tail light housings. They weren't OEM and I'm unsure if OEM units even exists.

That doesn't look right. The ones we had on our 98 were like the ones Ray shows, drilled holes into the top and bottom of the light housing. Not sure how well the ones I had would have protected in the end. Looking at you pics, seem like the slightest of hits could do more damage than protection.

It looks like you could just have some tabs welded on so you can screw them in to the light assembly or even the body.

Those look like sport tail light gaurds. For my 94 I had to take out the lights and the flanges lines up with the screw holes and then the lights went back in.
