Tall, narrow tires???

Hello Expedition Portal. I have a 1999 F-250 Diesel. I’ve been shopping around and found some tires that caught my eye. Coker STA Super Lug in 900/16 (36x10) or the Interco TSL Narrow S.S in 34x9.5. I’m sure they’d look great and sling mud something fierce but not sure how they’d perform of a 3/4 ton. The truck has a 3” spring pack leveling kit and a straight pipe. Thank you, Jake

I had a military trailer with STA's on it. Pretty beefy tire, but Bias Ply, and fairly expensive IIRC. Don't think the rubber is anything special, so your diesel would probably eat them pretty quickly. Same with the TSL, really old design, soft rubber, will be bald before you know it...

Bias tires are great on log skidders, or trucks used like log skidders, but if you're daily driving your truck on pavement, you'll probably hate them. Definitely hate them if it gets cold where you live, since they flat spot overnight and thump for the first several miles of your morning commute.

Since your truck has 16's, you might look into 255/85R16's. Several choices, all radial, all with decent wear. Not quite as tall, but better quality...

Thank you. I’ll have to take a look

You will hate bias ply tires on a heavy truck, I ran those bias swampers for spares 20 years ago on a gasser Dodge Ram. If you want tall skinny tires look at some military tries or expedition imports for some contential tires.
