How do these handle the cold?? I have tried 3 different storage boxes, all hard plastic, and all have broke due to the cold and now looking for the next solution

This will perform really well in cold weather. They are durable and flexible so there is nothing to break as a result of cold temperatures.

Back to the North Face bags. I went into the local North Face store to check out the bags mentioned earlier. While there are some similarities there are distinct differences and I was correct they are definitely NOT the same bag NOR are they even made from the same material. TNF bags appear to be pretty durable and online reviews would confirm that. However, the material on the Tepui Gear Bags are at least TWICE as thick as the material used on TNF bags. Also, you'll notice that there are durable plastic scuff pads on the bases of the Tepui duffles where the North Face bags have none and are just canvas leaving them open to more abrasion and potential for tears.

Being a north face duffle user......I think I have 5 large and 2 mediums.

Stretchy webbing thingy, can't see a use
wear lumpy rubber things just an edge to catch and rip off, unless the bottom is stiff and only the pads touch
NF is double material, not a rip or worn bottom to date
zips NF overlaps the zips by 2 inches, more weatherproof
NF doubles as a rucksack
material, mine are from 12 to 9 years old and well used, certainly the oldest one
No complaints so far, light tough and do the job.

Price wise I don'T think I paid more then 125usd per bag for the large version, packed full of clothes it just gets 22kg and no excess
I'm in aberdeen basicly every 2 weeks that's a 700 miles round trip by bus, and the medium works for a weeks clothes.

we use them basicly every month wether for local camping vacations and international moves can't fault them to date !

I've not seen your product and so can't comment on it, but to beat the NF quality and price, will be difficult

I wish you the best of luck with your en devours !

Ps the Gran Sabana wants it's trade marks back !

Thanks for weighing in. On the Tepui duffle which is the most similar to the NF duffle the zip is also overlapped by a couple inches like what you describe so I'm confident the level of waterproofing is at least equal. I will say that one nice thing that I like about the NF one is the dual shoulder straps so it can be carried like backpack or ruck. It's not as noticeable on the Tepui bag but while it does not have dual shoulder straps is does have a single that can be clipped from corner to corner either on the same side or across so it can be carried in a similar manner as a backpack but one carried with a crosschest strap from shoulder to hip.
.
I know these are relatively new and the NF ones have been around a while so I understand some skepticism and why some would still favor the NF ones since they haven't seen the Tepui bags. Personally and from my own use with the bags I would put them head to head with the NF ones in terms of quality and the price is already lower. But everyone will have to be their own judge.
.
Lastly, I don't get the comment about the Gran Sabana trademark.

Gotcha. I'm aware of the origin of the names (although I didn't come up with them). None of which are trademarked. ;)

Canadian Tire has World Famous 1230 dry duffle bags on clearance right now! $20 ea, I picked up two.

Not North Face or anything fancy, but they will suit my needs. Gotta love off season clearance sales!

Looking at the tool kit one, I am thinking it would make a reasonable first aid kit. Nice and visible. Would compliment the Plano mariner box I keep now.

I have a question about the Tepui bag, Where can it be found for 30 dollars cheaper? I found TNF bag for the same price 135.

The gear bags can be purchased directly from Tepui or any Tepui dealer, including me. I can get you a bit of a break on the price but it's not going to be $30, sorry. Is there a reason you think it should be $30 cheaper? or just to fit your budget? Personally I think these are better than TNF duffle. Similar size, more durable. I'm sure some will think I'm biased, which is understandable, but it's what I honestly think. But check out the review that the Expedition Portal/OJ staff did on the bags for an unbiased opinion. The link is above.

There are many rain conditions that may be encountered while traveling. mjmcdowell

These bags are not advertised as "Dry Bags". They are weather resistant, not weather proof and have never been claimed to be otherwise. The TNF bags are the same, they are not dry bags. What I can say is that I have personally had the bags in the bed of my open truck in a driving rain for over an hour. The outside of the bags were dripping wet. Nothing inside was wet.

The only reason I say 30 is it was posted in the thread, I have been eyeing TNF bag at REI. I am new to overlanding so I have nothing. I am getting married on Saturday and I am trying to do small things. Next year is the big trip to Montana and Yellowstone. I am hopefully going to pick up a RTT and everything else I need. I like these bags and since TNF ones are 135. I dont even know where to start with making a checklist. I will be in contact about 1 bag to start in a week or so. I have to wait until after the wedding.
