Tried to order the Autuana Ruggedized on Friday. Website they were already sold out and wouldn't let me back order. Also told me to call their customer service number, which was also the number listed on this thread. I called and no one answered. Left a nessage and never heard back. Has anyone else had any better luck? I'm afraid I'm going to miss this deal if I don't hear from there company soon.

As you can imagine it's been a busy weekend at Tepui. I'm working on getting confirmation regarding placing orders this weekend for backordered items. I'll report back as soon as I have info.

Official word on Black Friday sales on backordered items.....as long as your order is paid in full by the end of today (cyber Monday) the discount price will be honored.

That was a long list. Amazing to see how Tepui has grown over the years!

Totally agree. I got involved pretty early and it's exploded. It helps when it's a top quality product and you have excellent customers. I've also been impressed with how focused the Tepui team is on innovating and bringing new and improved products to market, rather than just sitting back on what they have or being another "me too" tent company offering nothing unique. I think that the quality and innovation have set them apart from other brands.

Is it just me or did the prices go up just in time for Black Friday? I just bought a Kukenam XL Ruggedized and had been thinking about picking up the annex, which was listed at $285 before any discounts on the Tepui website. I figured I would grab one on Friday but the price had jumped to $400. I ended up ordering one through a different vendor that still listed the price at $285 but today they emailed me to say their price was no longer correct. What gives? Kinda a little shady to advertise a sale and the jack the prices just before it happens. Rethinking my purchase a little here. I bought my tent through REI so I still have the option of taking it back.

Speaking of innovation, what about the Baja Series? Is it shipping? What are the variations in configuration?

New pricing for this season going into 2017 had been made known to dealers as several updates were made to most product, i.e. Sky windows being added to all models. Nothing shady intended, just price adjustment to better reflect production costs and market growth.

I replied to your question on this in the Baja Series thread. But for anyone checking this thread, here's the information again.
.
Yessir, they are now available on the Tepui website. Currently all models that don't normally include an annex are available. (Kukenam, KukenamXL and Ayer)
You can order these in a couple variations. Either with the mesh canopy, or with our Ultralite Nylon Ripstop canopy (available in green, grey, orange). Rainfly is included with either option.
If ordered with the Mesh Canopy, the UltraLite canopy can be added for MSRP $424. If ordered with the Ultralite canopy, the mesh canopy can be added for MSRP $299.
.
No videos at the moment, however it is very simple with an easy to use zipper gimp. Zip off one canopy and lay another canopy over the tent frame and zip it on.
.
For the future, Tepui is looking to make all the different canopies with the zipper gimp so that any canopy can be used with any tent base. (For example, a Ruggedized canopy could be changed out with a Mesh canopy on a non-ruggedized base, or a Mesh canopy and Ultralite canopy could be used on a Ruggedized base. I don't have an ETA on this yet.
.
The model in the attached photo is the Kukenam with mesh canopy.
.
As always, 10% off on these when ordered through me.

There's a lot to be said for using your own products and for listening to customers. I know others do that but seeing the Big Boss and his family at events like Tepui Fest inspires confidence in the product too.

hey guys,

I bought a Kukeman Sky two weeks and used it for 5 nights so far. Absolutely love it but I did notice something with my tent and wanted to bring it up.

The tent fabric is extremely tight to the frame, so much so that the half that flips open cannot sit flat. The floorboard interlock doesn't mate all the way (is this normal?).

The first time I opened the tent, the interlock was nowhere close to mating and I scrubbed this off as new fabric that needed to stretch a bit. After each day of use, the tent did start sitting flatter but the fabric also got very stretched in the corners. (how tight is the fabric supposed to be to the frame?)

The internal straps are also never loaded. Looking at the South African brands, these straps look like they suspend the cantilevered portion of the tent? With mine it looked like the fabric is doing all the lifting.

With the stretch on the fabric, I've also found zipping up the windows to be a pain because the zippers are being pulled as well.

I'm worried that with continued use the fabric will stretch beyond normal wear and begin falling apart. Anyone with similar fabric fit care to comment on longevity?

Thanks!
