The smaller rear seat is called a double cab and it comes with a 6.5 or 8 ft bed, with the 8ft bed being rare (but I have one). There is also a regular cab with an 8' bed that you might consider, but they are also rare. The RCs have more space behind the seat than is typical for a fullsize truck. SR (lowest end) models have a bench seat with fold down console, and a shifter on the column... at least in the 2.5 gen. I think 2.5 gen (2014) was the first year with the 38 gal tank as an option on some models, but there is plenty of space for an auxiliary tank which might have advantages. Oil coolers were deleted in 2018 I think, which was a bad idea.2007+ with the 5.7L, access cab, 4x4. that's as far I got...
Either 8' model has a lot of open space under the bed near the cab, that I'm in the process of trying to utilize. With a flat bottom camper there's about a 12"x14" "tunnel" that runs the full width right behind the cab and above the frame. Outside the rails and both in front and behind the tires there is a lot of space also for storage. My DC8' also has a lot of space under the cab on the driver's side.
