The all new 2026 Total Composites Camper Kits!

2007+ with the 5.7L, access cab, 4x4. that's as far I got...
The smaller rear seat is called a double cab and it comes with a 6.5 or 8 ft bed, with the 8ft bed being rare (but I have one). There is also a regular cab with an 8' bed that you might consider, but they are also rare. The RCs have more space behind the seat than is typical for a fullsize truck. SR (lowest end) models have a bench seat with fold down console, and a shifter on the column... at least in the 2.5 gen. I think 2.5 gen (2014) was the first year with the 38 gal tank as an option on some models, but there is plenty of space for an auxiliary tank which might have advantages. Oil coolers were deleted in 2018 I think, which was a bad idea.

Either 8' model has a lot of open space under the bed near the cab, that I'm in the process of trying to utilize. With a flat bottom camper there's about a 12"x14" "tunnel" that runs the full width right behind the cab and above the frame. Outside the rails and both in front and behind the tires there is a lot of space also for storage. My DC8' also has a lot of space under the cab on the driver's side.

Two completely different brands. Lake Country Campers builds composites panels using CPT panels. Total Composites is not associated with LCC or CPT and they have their own different network of builders.

Like sn-85 mentioned, we are not associated with LKC.
We are happy to supply you with our flat packed DIY kits or if you are looking for an assembled empty shell, you could always reach out to our partners Tank Expedition in Quebec Link: caouanne

Thanks for that info, my bad. It's been difficult to get quotes direct from the manufactures vrs dealing with the dealers/builders who outfit the shells. I'll keep at it.

We heard from someone smarter than me that there are many different ways the panels are made and the end results has a lot to do with failure rates. Can someone explain about theses panels and how they are made, as well as what about location the raw panel is manufactured?

Our panels are sourced through highly respected suppliers in Germany. Lamilux, Koemmerling,Puren . We then cut and vacuum press everything in our family owned factory in Asia. Just recently we started working with Gurit and the Kerdyn PET foam to increase the load rating and sheering strength in our panels. Here is a video I took a while ago showing you the difference in panel construction.

I've been checking back on TC and EXUP for info. Am I not seeing it or can you give an update?

My apologies! We are way behind with website updates... These things always take much longer than we wish.

In any case, the new panel composition is in production and we have started delivering them since November to customers in Europe and North America.
Here is a snap shot of our two different habitat variations. The 50mm version we are offering for our slide ins/flatbed campers and anything up to 14' floor length. The 84mm floor thickness is needed for anything more substantial like an LMTV or Mercedes SK .

Bravo! This is how an announcement should be made. You hit on some good key points for people looking to build one. Seamless delivery, how many helpers needed, customs taken care of and family managed company in asia. Enough information to get the brain imagining what you could build.

When you get time, I'd like to hear more about what changes were made for the new style panels and what the benefits are.

Here you go:

For 2026, we’ve reimagined our camper construction from the ground up. Every kit is now completely wood-free, built with a precision-engineered combination of Polyurethane and PET foam cores that deliver unmatched insulation, strength, and durability.
PET foam is strategically used in key areas — the floor, cab-over, and rear wall — to provide exceptional shear strength and protection against point loads. The result?
* Lighter weight for improved handling and fuel efficiency
* Superior insulation for year-round comfort
* Incredible durability that stands up to the toughest adventures

Overall we are shaving ~40-50lb of each camper model by eliminating our previously used marine plywood.

Our Fiberglass Skins (HG4000) from Lamilux are still the same. We considered different variations but considering the repairability, cost and weight we still believe that the HG4000 smooth high gloss white is our top choice.

Cool to see that you are continuing to innovate.

Was the plywood used in the previous design production style truck campers in the floor?
