I've been unable to change country for ordering online, and they haven't answered the e-mail....

So I called them--- had a chat, you guys have bought them out of stock. They have a shipment coming, he suggested buying a few to reduce shipping costs, so when they have them in stock, I'll buy a few sets..

Give Barbara some time. Once she gets to your email, you will get full attention. It took me a few days to get a response from the first email I sent her and then communication was daily until the package arrived. Also, the online site will not work for ordering international because she will source the cheapest and most reliable currier for your area and removal of the VAT (taxes) which is automatic. She removes that because if you do not live in the UK, you don't have to pay the VAT.

Also, she does not work Mondays and one other day from what she told me so that could be the delay as well.

From the time I received notification from her about making an order to arrival was about 7 days. Not bad from the UK to Hawaii.

My first email was:

Who I am with my address and where I wanted them shipped with zip code.
What exactly I wanted ordered and how many sets

She sent me back the quote for price minus VAT and two shipping quotes with timeline options of my choice. I responded and the next day she sent me the invoice and then the shipping number that afternoon. 5 days later and I'm rolling dirty with my window vents..............

Thanks;

Yes, I spoke with her, and Brendon. Very nice folks.. She will contact me when the next shipment arrives soon. I'll order a few sets. Nice folks.

Brendon was like, wow, another American, and then I explained why, and he said that was cool.

I was joking about the stocking situation, I had no idea we cleaned them out :sombrero:

Sorry Todd, keep us posted on when they restock. I am glad they got increased business out of it though, may be a good seller for them now more D3's have escaped the mall parking lots.

and... BARBARA WHERE'S MY COMMISSION?!

In that case stay tuned, and fyi I'll accept that commission in beer :). Been busy putting the miles on lately and futzing around with this yellow gloss paint... but there are a few bits and pieces in the works. Might fab up a few more EAS switches to give away over drinks the next time I meet another D3 guy, or you troublemakers...

Just read this thread, great build. Regarding EAS disconnects, has anyone tried the RRC MARS trick so you can bypass the EAS and manually fill each shock? http://www.rangerovers.net/repairdetails/airsuspension/replumb.html

I think someone had mentioned a kit from Oz, but I can tell you this system works great on the RRC.

PC,

Thanks :). I have not tried that trick. I am aware of the Green Oval Experience kits that add valves to each strut so you can manually introduce air to each corner, but since the GAP tool exists and allows you to control the computer, compressor, and valve blocks to do the same thing, I left that area alone. I am presuming the GOE is the same principle as the MARS. Do your '95 RRC's both have EAS? Now that you've brought it up I would like to complete the trifecta of my suspension failure mitigation system. Although it has been robust for the last year and a half of solid daily driving.

Where it has usefulness is if you have an air line blow out. You can pull the fuse, and manually air up. Bruce has a lot of information for the do it yourself type of folks. He outlines installing a switch, using a faskit and into great detail on schrader valves, etc.

Aw yeah! Bruce remains my go-to for technical queries. Guy is pretty much the "Disco3-whisperer". I would be lying if I said I have not spent hours oogling his faskit setup gallery. :)

Bruce replied;

I guess being referred to in that manner is a very positive comment; it kind of makes the effort worthwhile.

Regarding the Faskit, the reality is I came to the conclusion that the stock LR air system is more reliable than I initially thought it would be. It really does not need much help.

I also think that once the initial Hitachi compressor reliability problems got worked out, it is not a bad compressor, and I am yet to be convinced the AMK is really better.

The weak link on the Hitachi is the air dryer. It is too bad that replacement of the beads was never spelled out as a routine maintenance item. It sure would be cheaper than a new compressor every few years.
